Who am I kidding, I'm going to buy this game! So, I've jumped on the bus now, too. May as well enjoy the ride through Betaville.
I´ve got a question about this whole beta process, ´cause i´m not sure if i´ve done it all right:
I know that the beta version of Elemental isn´t out yet. But i figured i´d ask sooner rather than later, since i´ve heard that, time wise, the window to participate in the beta is rather small.
My situation is this: i already have an impulse account (bought Galciv II: TotA through it) and i already pre-ordered Elemental, but through this website here and not through impulse.
It would be my first time to participate in a Stardock beta, and i´d like to know what i have to do, to get my purchase into impulse. I haven´t got a serial number or something like that with the order confirmation. So what´s the deal? Will i get an email from stardock that tells me what to do when the beta is out? I´d really hate to miss the first beta, that´s why i´m asking right now.
If you bought it from this website, it has gone through the Stardock servers, so I guess you should be fine without doing anything else. If you want some more confirmation, you might contact the Stardock sales department. I think it's [email protected] Someone correct me if I'm wrong....
Can not wait for this game.
i have preordered, but I am so angry at the impluse North America only sales that this might be the last game I get from them.
Pre-ordered a few days ago, even though I am very, very, very poor.
I understand that, but why arnt products that are unavailable hidden from me? And where is the article explaining this? The impulse client even calculates the price in Norwegian currency. The impulse client has information about my location so a simple hidewhen Location != "North America" would do the trick.
Game I'm most excited about at PAX this year. Pre-ordered and waiting for the beta!
In for the long haul now as of a minute ago with the digital version.
Damn, I had a $5 coupon back in November and I could have ordered it for $45. I got greedy. I thought there might be another coupon.
I just ordered it now for fear of missing out on the beta.
Doh!
Was at PAX, but didn't realize that they had pre-orders for sale at a discount, so I had to pre-order online. At least I got my 10% off coupon!
Count me in ![]()
I pre ordered a while back. Just so i get to beta test. I hope i can change my shippijg address somewhere as I may have moved by release ![]()
Got our Pre-Order in today... I'm a MOM player from WAY back, in fact I just got my old copy working again with dosbox so my 8 year old can get addicted to it as well
.
Long story short, I've been watching this game for years and decided that it'd make the perfect combined gift for my son and myself. He LOVES game design of all sorts (his re-engineered version of the classic "Battleship" to incorporate aircraft and emphasize the role of the Carrier rather than just having it be a bigger target for "Hit!" was a lot of fun!) so I'm thinking this'll be right up his alley.
Can't wait to see how it looks/plays in person. As I strongly feel that the gameplay of a lot of the older games like MOM and XCOM was superior to the eyecandy fest games with 2 dimensional and repetitive scenarios we see now, I'm really looking forward to Stardock's approach of holding off on the graphics engine to focus on gameplay first and foremost in the Beta.
James (and Alex!)
Ready and waiting for the beta
I'm late to the posting party, but I did join the club a few months ago...maybe?
Preordered, hoping for that no-fun-beta soon!
Took me a while to pre-order, but here I am!
I have been following this game for years. Recently I have been thinking that I might have more fun playing a completed game at release, but after seeing the PAX footage and recent dev interviews I figured that I had better preorder this potentially legendary game. (which i just did)
I pre-ordered and then registered on stardock i hope it won't be any problem.
I can't wait for beta.
I just finally bought the game the other day, because I heard you had to pre-order before the beta to get in, but I was always going to buy this from when I heard it was "in the works" last year.
*Raises Hand*
Let's just everyone remember that we will be beta testing this, and do our best, like it's been said by SD people so many times, it won't be fun for a while. Don't get sad, get determined - to make it the best strategy game ever!! And create mountains, of FUN! ...ahem..bored at work.
I pre ordered a while ago. Who could miss out on the most exciting game of the year?
