OK so you guys read Iain M Banks?  At first this video was an excession for me, totally out-of-context problem.  I had no idea what I was looking at.  In hi-def with pauses, though, we see the following:

- Lord Erebus is in, and at 14 -18 seconds in he has little red friends..vampires? 

Correction:  I initially thought the guy with a big sword was a DG, but many people have pointed out he's actually a blinged out ultra-minotaur.  Thanks, y'all :D

 

- Lord Erebus is summoning level 1 minions with his item bar...generals don't get items?  Once you upgrade your minions all future minions of that type are upgraded?

 

- at 19 seconds in we see a fishhead artillery unit.  WTF is this?  I like it :D

 

- at 29 seconds in it looks like Erebus stuns every enemy within a given range and then one-hits UB

 

- now we look at Oak, who is doing about 1500 dps melee on Erebus, three-hits him...The vamp is pretty easy to kill, I take it...

 

- at 49 Oak is facing off against Sedna, another DG we haven't seen.  I think the big floppy guy beside her is a yeti.  DOn't be fooled by the double-smite, it's not for the yeti - looks like Yoshi is between Sedna and her yeti, and dies at the same time...

 

-  At 1:15 I think Erebus is using his mist ability, taking damage for as long as he is mist but able to move anywhere on the field of battle

 

- Then he goes after Sedna, who summons a yeti (no barracks) and is pretty quickly taken down by vamps

 

- The comments at Gametrailers are pretty funny too.  "Too Human rip-off?"

 

What'd I miss?

Devs, is this an older build, or can we take it as Beta 2esque?

The red Vampires look amazing. I like how a unit dies and it kind of crawls out.

Also, what is that little ring of red the Vampire Lord used when he was alone by the towers?

Edit: Ok, nevermind. It seems that's his mist form ability. He materializes and it looks like he also takes damage from it.
(1:15 for reference) (Ironically at 0:15 as well, didnt notice that :D )

I think the Yoshi guy your talking about is just a generals personal gaurd. If you dig around the screen shots theres a picture of the health crystal with upgrades for priests, minotaurs and archers. The guy with the huge sword is a minotaur personal gaurd for the general. Same with the artillary archer. I believe these guys you have total control over from the videos. You can also see in the vampire lords inventory he has 3 units in place of where items usually appear, a minotaur looking dude, priest and archer. I also believe you only have partial control over your special minions like " attack this " or " go there". You can see the special creeps swarm a tower on part of the video. Thats my 2 cents

Yeah, from the other videos you dont see many orders being thrown around. In fact...unless I missed it, I never saw a single thing selected.

I hope that was just for the presentation of the General and the person wasnt really playing. Or! It just doesnt take much micro to be effective, which would be great!

LOL.  Yes, very easily.

 

No offense, I wondered the same thing and then figured it out by accident.  They have since discussed the need to move abilities to 1-4, because Q and e are used in camera control. 

 

Q rotates Clockwise.

W rotates Counter-Clockwise.

 

I'm sure there are other keys as well.  I prefer the normal set up and only zoom in and out.

yes. if you don't already have the beta, you can zoom in and out with scroll, and while holding space-bar wave the mouse like a mad-man.

If ya watch close, you can see a dying Torch Bearer right as the shot starts. Havnt seen Yoshi(?) yet.

The devs use cheat codes in tons of the videos.  One of the recent vidoes showed two players spawn followed by a message that said all skills unlocked.  My guess is the devs cheated in this vid just like the rest, they better not do that in mp or I'll report them.  ;P
