Beta 1c Performance Increase

I just got done testing both maps turning everything I could up.  The previous betas I had issues with FPS being quite low and everything was quite choppy.  I immediately noticed everything not only looked better but also ran almost perfectly smooth on my machine.  I only noticed performance issues in the demigod selection screen.  Someone else posted concerning that.

Just want to second that. Started having some major performance problems on both maps when I got Beta 1a but as of 1c everything seems much much better, very smooth again.

Laptop Specs:

Intell T7400 @ 2.16GHz (2 CPUS)

2GB Ram

Mines map is the same as last beta, no performance gains.

There's a slight performance gain with the atlantis map.

2gb ram

Geforce 7100

10FPS performance gain on mine.  Atlantis has best performance of all maps.  I would say there are improvements.

No preformance gain for me, Atlantis map runs at 5-6 simspeed on average, Mines on 10-11

C2D E6400 (2.1 ghz)

4 Gb ram

Geforce 8800 GTX

All drivers fully updated.

Not sim speed, fps.

It is fast, but I'm still getting slight delays when major events are happening in game.  I'll first say it's not everytime something major happens, but its more notixeable now as the music hangs or repeats a bar.

Really noticeable improvement though, so accolades to you.

Well, didn´t really noticed any performance boost. Only performance decreases on Atlantis (I think because it´s such a huge map etc.).

I did not take a look at the fps, because it was really slow. Slower than a diashow. The first seconds were fine. But as soon as I get into combat *whooops* only 5-7fps maybe ^.^

edit:

Ok, now I´ve played some games with activated the / key.

On high settings, I´ve got aorund 2fps. Everything on medium= 5-8fps. And everything on low results in ~14fps. Not very playable :D

Runs great for me.  What are your system specs?

I´ve got a single core cpu 3ghz, 1,5gb ram and a 7600GT.

Games like Call of Duty 4, Fallout 3 and FarCry2 are running ok on ~medium settings and 1024x860.

Hmm...  not sure what it is, could be Single core CPU or Graphics Card.  Would love t compile a performance databse on here.

The sim speed is good. It´s around 3-7 (positive of course ;) )

I hope the performance will increase. Otherwise I don´t understand why the CEO said in the interview with G4TV that you do not have to own an high-end machine.

Well, whatever. Fallout3 is waiting.

edit: I don´t know why it´s bold oO

You don't need a high end machine. A dual core isnt considered high end anymore.

You can build a nice gaming rig for ~$400, if not less.

This runs really great on my machine which I got Christmas 05 for ~$1000.  I could build a better machine now for $400-500 that would run this at 80-90 fps.  And this runs WAY better than farcry2 or Fallout3 on my machine.  Dual Cores are definately standard now days and this game uses both cores, hell I can get a Quad Core Q6600 chip for $189.

Is there a command I run to see the sim speed or frames per second in the game?

I have side programs to monitor fps.  That is the best reference for a traditional sense of performance.  Sim speed is listed on the in game score page.  Sim speed is a measure of how slow the game is slowing itself to correct for overpowering your cpu.  It seems when it gets below 1, you leave real time.  In other words, at -1 a game second may last 2 real world seconds (not sure on the exact conversion).  This tends to happen when there is way too much action, though it has never happend to me, or more commonly on beta 1a when the pathing bug would cause creep monsters to get stuck.

Side programs to monitor fps include rivatuner, ati tray tools (for ati cards only), and fraps.  Each have their pluses and minuses.  Rivatuner works with both ATI and NVIDIA cards, but seems to cause slowdown.  ATT doesn't cause as much slow down but is only compatible with some ATI card.  FRAPS is a great software for recording, but can also cause slowdown, though this may only be when recording.  Hope that helps.

It's approximately (1 second +0.25)^sim speed. When you're at sim speed 0, that is exactly real time. When you have sim speed +1, it obviously doesn't run that fast, but could do. When you go below 0, the game slows down. When you talk about just -1 or so, it's not noticable, but -2/3 is slow and slower than that is generally considered unplayable.

I've totally just zoomed in real close and finished a game on Mine with the slowdown from 1A. Everything looked sick :)

In-game Performance has increased to what seems like beyond Beta 1 levels - however, the Demigod selection screen pre-game seems to have performance issues. What's that about?
