Demigod Lore?

Have does it will?

I was just wondering about any more Lore that will be released.

Such as for the Creeps! I personally see the arenas and battles with the Demigods to be...possibly a heaven-ish place for the Creeps. A Valhalla type place exists for them and the gods constantly reincarnate them to do battle again. After each 'match', the creeps return to the Inn which gives leave to some very...strange scenes.

So, any lore anywhere? Anyone have their own interpritations? :D

(I'm at work and I can't stop thinking about Demigod, gimme a break ;) )

maybe we need dotswarlock to get in on the beta (if you didn't immediately think [i]'oh hell yes, we need a demi-Bagby'[i/] then you obviously don't frequent the Gas Powered forums enough).

It's coming.  Timing is everything.

Even though it seems like the game is almost here, it's actually 3 or so months away.

Plus, we have to figure out which parts to divulge and which parts to keep in reserve.

Let me just say - it's pretty cool stuff.  We know that a god has fallen. But we haven't revealed how or why. We have heard the term "all-father" but what exactly does that mean and to whom does it pertain? Those are questions that will become more revealed as we get closer.

I have a feeling the backstories of all the Demigods are gunna be really intricate.

Very few games have me excited about playing the single player. Demigod did it :)

Imo, the most recent book has been pretty empty...

I dodn't know maybe because theirs too many things called she. For example a boat or a mothership are an example. Also becasuse most religions have a MAle supreme God. Look at the Greek's Zeus. Also look at christians ( i am one). WE say our FATHER. On another note we may get some lore when they actually fill out the origins section of this website.

It doesn't appear if you're on the forums, but if you head to the Demigod home page, you'll notice the new Origins tab.

I'm hoping they'll get that up with Beta 2.

Just wondering, but why is it never 'All-Mother'?
End of GrandEnd's quote

One reason might be that all of the playable Demigods are half-siblings.  All of them have different mortal mothers and backgrounds but all have the same divine daddy - the All-Father.

How would it be if it was an All-Mother, who had a whole bunch of kids off of different dads but didn't stick around to raise any of them?

(Actually this would be kinda interesting and subversive.  Replace Zeus with Lillith and her brood)

Point is, it's a lot more comfortable, culturally, to have an promiscuous and absent dad than a promiscuous and absent mom, mortal or otherwise...

Well I don't know about that. I was going to say it fits with existing myth better, but then I remembered Tiamat giving birth to all the monsters.

I assume this and Lillith are the same story adapted to different cultures, although I've only heard of Lillith from the first Vampire game, where she's spun in a more positive light.

Lillith is old-school desert religion.  She was Adam's first wife.  They bickered because she claimed she was equal rather than subordinate.  She ran off, wouldn't go back even to save her children from God's wrath, and mothered a whole bunch of monsters and demons, the Lillim.

Adam wouldn't stop whining, so then God hooked up Eve, who was supposed to respect Adam's authoriteh
