It is my pleasure as a new senator of the MWC to congratulate all good peeople of fertile lands with incredible success that our empire achieved in the recent past.

We are not the fastest growing empire but the quickest to rise in ratings. Opportunities are excellent for new (and seasoned) players to make their mark on the face of Metaverse.

We are not asking anyone to defect from other respected empires. We are asking people of midlands (of North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, Japan, all islands) to join MWC. If desire to help a real and noble cause will regretfully make you leave existing empire so be it. Be strong in your true aligence.

We defeated G.R.O.S.S, others are shaking seeing MWC make it's way up.

Celebrate if you are an MWC member. Join us and we shall go together to the glorious future of the Mid Western Confederation.

FYI MWC. I am currently at the tail end of a game. I don't think I will download the latest patch untill I am finished. Last time I tried to install an update while playing a game I was unable to transfer my score to the metaverse. So just a word of caution. The folks a Stardock have probably already taken care of this but better safe than sorry.

Finally done. I had to settle for a tech. win. I was going for cultural but. After converting most of my allies I had no buffer between me and the hostiles. No matter though they were vastly inferior, Ok they couldn't win a tech victory. Either way I pulled it off. Hope you all are doing well in your games.

Is there any benefit to playing older versions?? I noticed some players (who lead other teams) are still playing v.031. Are they just looking to take advantage of old flaws??

A big special welcome to our new members. With everyones hard work (OK OK fun gameplay). We are keeping pace with our fellow top ten teams. We continue to close in on the #8 team. But they will not go down without a fight. Thanks to Fearqus,Copernicus,Soulwound, Idleprocess, and HellC for their recent 900pt+ games. I love the competition with the other teams, but more importantly I love the game. I hope everyone is having as much fun with it as I am. I think my next game shall be GROSS style. Pure Evil. I'll let you know how it goes.

Just saying good job everyone. We pasted the GG's by the end of the month like i said we would :) Now to stop the evil G.R.O.S.S and bring peace to the metaverse ( under our rule of course).

Man! what a holiday weekend. I got in a whopping 2 games, and both were humilliating losses :sniff!:

I won't even tell you the difficulty level, it's rather embarrassing :notsure:

My holiday weekend went as normal for me -- traveling from one relative's house to another, fixing their computer problems. Ah, the life of a geek. :)

I'm easing back into the much less hectic, more relaxing 9-5 work schedule now. Might even have time for computer games again. :)

Well I just got back from my holiday weekend today. My experience was similar to your Copernicus. Except after family we got home and started house renovation (painting and plastering). My computer has been(and still is) unplugged for three days now. Oh the agony. Anyway I am (or was) working on a decent game. No telling when I will be able to finish it though.

Welcome to our newest member Kurleykyew. We seem to be in 7th on the metavers right now with Apolyton in 1st and GROSS in 9th. It seems very strange though and the individaul scores are stange too. They must still be changing it. Staffa went from 1st to 19th. Anyway for now we are 7th yeah us.

Quake in fear, most worthy MWC foes. The Score Reaper is coming soon. He is just coming earlier for those who submit games. But, the Reaper will eventually take all of us down. And when the field is level again, you will be back in the same boat as before, behind GROSS! Muwahahaha!

(Gerakken comes out of his manic state, and realizes he is in the wrong thread. Time to slip away, not-so-unnoticed.)

No Gerakken, I most certainly will not Quake, whether in fear or otherwise. I never really got into Doom, let alone Quake, and I tend to prefer turn-based games anyway. :)

I got a chance to try out GalCiv 1.04 last night. I haven't gotten too far yet, but there are a few noticable differences. For one, "Loose Clusters" are far more loose than before, which has been throwing off my playing style somewhat. For another, the game now encourages you to select all your civilization bonus points explicitly at the start, something which I had been avoiding up to now. I tried maxing out the morale and population growth, and my Terran Hordes empire really started living up to its name! Unfortunately, a civilization more interested in procreation than in building, researching, or conquering doesn't make for a terribly effective empire, as was forcefuly demonstrated to me several times. :) I'll have to put a little more thought into my techniques before I start beating this new version at the higher difficulty levels...

Not all. I still have a save game from 1.2 that will not submit. After I patch I will try to submit that one as well.

Hmm, I would have expected Stardock to allow earlier versions to submit; after all, they have plenty of copies of the 1.0 version still being sold in stores, so they've got to be getting at least a few new people each week trying to submit scores from really old versions.

On the other hand, if you're running 1.35 and you've got a 1.2 game, maybe the 1.35 version doesn't want to submit it...
