Graphics prbles with Forged Alliance

I tried the supreme commander demo a while back on this pc so i decided to get the stand alone expansion. My computer meets recommended requirments, yet when i play it the ground, unless i'm zoomed all the way out, is black and gray, but you can see the ground in a few spots when you move the camera, other wise it's pretty much a black and gray mass, i put the games graphics options on low no change. i've updated my drivers, and that did not do any thing, i've restarted my comp, nothing happened there, i've reinstalled hte game nothing happened, i re downlaoded the drivers, nothing happened. So any ideas? i googled for the problem, every aswer i saw was always install latest drivers, that didn't work.
