Clan/guilds

Hi, out there!

In charge of the BETA 2 coming up tomorrow i would like to ask for other players with interest in founding a Demigod Clan.

In the first step i think its best to create an international guild, because the community which is already playing Demigod isn't that large.

i dont exactly know about clan-support in demigod, if there is any ingame-clan-whatever, but if we are some people and the work would be worth i also could set up a little homepage and forum. a teamspeak server shouldn't be a problem as well.

So... if you are interested, post a little "hello i'm interested and ma name is..." with some details about yourself here, like age, where you come from, and your game-times as well as the languages you speek and how to contact you but over the forum here...

something about me you would maybe like to read...

I come from germany, im 20 years old and working as a software developer myself but not in the gaming section. i played warcraft 3 since it was released until now, with little breaks. since I'm playing online i was Leader of a WC3 clan until WoW started up and a lot of my clanmembers changed to it... crap :-/. after this i reaorganaized several new starts but as i started to work harder for school and later began with work i had not the time, to do that anymore. the most time we played just played just for fun after the first and large clan crashed down... and what you think we played most? right! DOTA. i came up with a serious strong team after ca. a year where we played in the first of the european leagues in some of the best placings. i actualy was not in the team because of too less time to practice every or every second day so i wasnt strong enough for beeing worth in the team in my own opinion... but until today i like dota, am playing it from day to day and just waiting for demigod to release.

enogh about that ^^. the point is, all the time we were successfull in the leagues we always keept up the fun. its a game and its mainly aim is to be fun. so this will be the only rule i realy want to come up at start: HAVE FUN!!!! as we start to play in serious leagues or something like that it can maybe change but thats a part of the future and what the members will have to decide. as you read i have not all the day time, so im also searching for some orgas and co-leaders, to be available for the members if they got requests or something like that. but thats also something what will be decided in future when i get known of you guys.

ok now to the requirements to join us:

1. you need demigod. i dont say that you need to be in BETA 2, you already can request the invitation now and pre order to beta 3 or join when its released and until then just hang out with us and the others or play dota with us or whatever.

2. Teamspeak would be a great add to your tools. i think today everyone playing online should alreay hae got a microphone and TS2 .

3. I would prefer to set a age-requirement of 18 years for the standard. thats just because i think we all want to chill arround as well and the older people becom, the more chilled they are most time. you can also request me if you are 16 or 15, but i will definately look over you and you will have to prove to be worth ;) let me say that i also joined my first clan with somethin arround 14 years and most of the guys ( i was 6-20 years younger than all the others) thought i were older because i got a good behaviour... everyone is worth for a chance.

4. one more rule, or several in one:

there are some things i definately dont want in our clan and what will be only judged one time with a warning before i banish that guy from TS, Forum, clan and so on: FLAMES! i hate flamers in the clan. if you are angry flame in teamspeak the guys while you are muted... but dont flame others directly. if you got a temper, make a break and cool down... and specially dont flame or something like that another clanmate!

another reason for a direct punishment without warning is any kind of cheats, hack, or explicit bugusing, to trick others to get a benefit from it in game or somewhere else.

the game shall make fun for everyone, not only you!

5. you should be capable of speaking english or german. its maybe not that fair, but i want to understand what my members are talking about and thats why i dont want to hear a houndred of languages on teamspeak. the main-language on forum will be english as well as german, while i recomend everyone to write his texts english so everyone can understand. thats a good possibility to improve your language skills for nearly everyone so dont be afraid of it... it helped me very much for my exams some years ago to play games with people from other countrys ;)

and last but not least, you need a computer ^^.

for online-times and so on i wont set any requestions. im working myself and cant be online all the time, so feel free to come online and play with us as you want.

ok thats all for now. i would be very happy about some answers!

EDIT: ah i forgot... if you want to contact me directly... my ICQ number is: 251243879!

WE wANT YOU!

Competetive? Time zone will probably be an issue for me if this is mostly Europe-based (I'm western Canada), but I'm definitely interested if it's competitive.

hmm maybe, but if we get large enough im sure that we will get some more players of your timezone. aditionally at weekends i play until late knight as well as some of my friends do, if we dont have a party somewhere ^^. so we definatly will meet each other ;). im not even sure if i definately want to found a clan or  something like a gaming community for demigod... time will show, but im aming at the moment just on having fun together on an easier way. and maybe you know the dota public game which is just annoying in my opinion... that i want to prevent somehow. if you got enough friends you dont need to play public....

I think there will be official clan support.  This was talked about and I hope they still plan to keep this in.  I would love to play in a group, though I am in med school (research year out) and have tons of other activities, so sometimes I won't be around.  It would be really cool to have a group that plays together and against each other and chat online.  I am game for your group.  We may have to split into more clans if time zones become an issue.

I would also like to be in a clan, but currently I'm not sure whether I should lead or join. You're the first among many more to come that will want to create a clan. I'll hold out on this for now. But obviously for tournaments you're going to need a clan or a team, and finding people now doesn't seem like too bad of an idea. I'd like to see what everyone's got first in terms of skill. I'd like to stick around people like Trigeminal though, he seems like a person that I'd like playing with.

Xen of Onslaught

I've been part of this clan for several years, and may continue to be a part of it. The community's growth is very dependant on new games, and likely as this game shapes up we could use plenty of people from this game interested there. We even had people from DotA playing there, but as out of even the DotA branch has dried out. Hopefully in time, a game like this can bring fresh blood to the community which fits the areas you list out.

I'm going to have to join the "6 hours of playtime a week" Clan, lol

Sigh....

The benefits of having a job and girlfriend and activities far outway the downside, but sometimes I miss the 3 am hungover pizza-fueled gaming sessions...

the aim i am following with this mainly focuses on finding people to play with them. i thought about finding them all over the world, and found one big community with several squads. each of this squads will be part of of the big one, but play leagues and clanwars on their own. even between the squads we could play funwars or a little "inside league". thats a big vision and we would need a lot of people for that. but the positive aspect is just, that you got a community of players you know with requirements so that not every flaming kiddy could join. its not like i want to found a huge clan with masses of players and in the end the 5 best will be a league team. the final goal would be to have several clan in one community to train with the others, playing inhouses. so you dont have to play all the time with people you dont know which maybe are annoying.

even if you already are a whole clan it would be realy cool if you were interested in joining this project as well. the more we are (until a break point when we get too many) the more people you will have to play with. and with the different time zones you will probably have some people to play every time...

from the next week to the 7. of january i dont have to work, so i will look for some good webspace and set up a little hompage, where the interested people can show up and discuss or something else.

as well i wont punish someone for beeing not online every da or week. play as you can and as you want. when the forum is set up, it would just be nice if there some information about inactivity could be found if someone will be not able to play for longer time so that the others know whats with those guy...

i'm not even afraid of giving the title as leader of this project to another one when its running well in later time. its a community, and communitys can choose their leader(s)...

I'd be interested in joining a group to find some common people to play with (I too am in western Canada Pelorn). Not sure if I would be tournament material as I never played DoTA, but I do have a knack for RTS and quite enjoy Action RPG. In fact I don't even know which style of Demigod I'll be playing most often. Anyway, if anyone would like to set up a regular session time I'm on Mountain time, and I do have a microphone. As for personal information I'm a 22 year old male Canadian, and an avid gamer.

Nobody has to fear to be not recruited because he is not a pro, even so called "noobs" i will recruit. everyone started as a unskilled player, everyone is getting better over time if he gets the chance to! and even better if he can use the benefits of a community which is working together ;)

actually I'm trying to get an www.Demi-God-Community.com URl or something like that. its the most informative name for the thing i want to start. im already creating the forum and will set it up maybe this evening in a early state. actually it will be a BurningBord lite... if we become a larger community i maybe could come up with a comercial version.

It would be pretty nice to have a bunch of people that regularly played with each other.

-I too fit in the 6 hours a week category, for the time being... Hopefully any one of those 6 hours I can find a game with 10 people. x_x

I think as the game progresses you'll see some of the DotA clans dip their toes in and see what Demigod has to offer.  A few guys I play DotA with are considering pre-ordering to see if they can get in on Beta 3.  THere's a good number of people on gaming forums I visit playing already.  I don't think you'll really have to worry much about clans - they're usually a pretty organic thing, they tend to establish themselves as the opportunity presents itself.

kithon maybe i didnt understand your post, but did you understand what i want to create kithoo? ^^

its not just a clan its a community for clans and players.

Isn't that what we have here basically?  Unless you have some major web-coding skills, making a website to be used by thousands of people is a pretty big undertaking.  I'm all down for a fansite to congregate players, but that's more than I think any of us are ready to do during a beta.

if you dont think its possible, it wont stop me from trying to set up such a platform.

it just needs some people which would spend some of their time into this. i already got some people of the multigaming clan im a member of, which will help me administrate this for the beginning. but i would be very pleased if people like Tigerminal or OrleanKnight, whicht give the best to improve the community, would join us. the difference between the platform i want to set up and this one is just, that we will be not a public community, if someone flames he gets kicked. if someone detected as a maphacker he will be bannished like all other cheaters.

with this process, the members of this community can highly trust to the other members, to be cool as well and they have no need to think about playing with them in a private 5on5 game twice.

i also think i will set up a teamspeak or ventrilo, where the players can talk with each other and discuss tactics while they play...

maybe an IRC will follow as well to make it easier to find people in a short time for a private game, as we currently dont have some chat-releated possibility ingame like the battle.net offers, but thats a part where my knowledge ends.i haven't ever before set up an IRC...
