[Large Bug] Can't join games

Well, I've tried about 20 games now, and they all hang at the "Trying to connect..." screen.

I've tried new games that appear towards the bottom, random games from the middle, games at the top of the list etc. and nothing works.

They all say "trying to connect..." but they never connect. I let it run for 10(!!) minutes once, and still no connection at the end of it.

Help please :p

I have the same problem, although I did manage to join one game once.

I've updated on Friday the 19th ... and I tried to join games during the evening. Like the OP states : it never connects.

The games offered all remain in a 0/1 or 0/2 or 0/3 status : the hosts don't seem to be able to recruit fellow players who succeed to connect.

Lucky for us that we can host a game, alone with only bots : nothing else would be possible, to run a beta-test game, since they disabled all forms of non-Internet play!

When hosting games port detection is not so automatic...

Unfortunately they do NOT speem to be tapping into upnp (universal plug and play with my router) which means that while WINDOWS has the appropriate ports opened (I assume the game does this), my router has something else to say about this.

I opened a port in my router and use that port when hosting. So if you see my 1v1 or 2v2 games please join :)

I have the same issue.  I've played one game so far with other people; I hosted it and a few people joined.  Since then, every game I've tried to join has hung on "Trying to connect..."

The game I was able to play with other people was terribly laggy, however.  I don't think it was just my connection - it's been fine recently and doesn't give me significant lag with other games I play (i.e. Warhammer Online).

AFAIK Reactor uses tunneling, so firewalls should not be an issue.

The issues these guys were having were most likely due to trying to join games which had already begun. We were hoping to have that solved in the build that weekend but I don't think that worked out, so in the meanwhile you can use this page to see which games on the list are actually open.

have tried most of the day to get me and another friend connected in a game...

just stops at the "trying to connect screen"

i have one single time been able to join a game...

when i try and host and set auto port then it is only the first time it uses port 6073... after that it uses port 0, then i have to close the game and start it up again to host a game with 6073.

but even tho neither me or my friend gets any longer than the "trying to connect" screen. :S

great game cant wait till it is all done :D

Yes, sometimes.

But at other times, I see that the selected game still is available after having tried to connect with it for 60 to 100 seconds : the game obviously has not launched, since it remains in the lobby list for over a minute when I have aborted my connection attempt.

I have hosted a dozen games, but, since the release of Beta 2, I have never been able to join any game.

Not a complaint : merely a report.

He was implying that the bug is that these games are NOT removed from the list. In Demigod's terms, hosting and joining are entirely the same thing from a networking standpoint, so if you can host but not join, this is why.
