[BUG] Audio pops/crackles

It kind of sounds like a cell phone is near a speaker at some points, and then more like fuzzy radio interference.  All the sounds are there and audible, but the crackle is annoying enough to be noticed.

Are there any audio drivers available for your machine newer than July?

This is happening intermittenly for me as well.  It usually happens only when a secondary screen is up.  For instance, when having the shop screen, skill screen, or character screen I will hear some crackling but when just the regular game is going there isn't any crackling.

I wasn't sure if this was a demigod issue or a vista sound issue in general.

This sound issue is absolutely annoying the piss out of me too. The sounds also seem to repeat and stutter slightly when a bunch of things happen on the screen at once. Early in a match the sound is fine, but as the game gets more hectic the sound starts to stutter and get worse over time (memory leak maybe?). This does not happen in any of my other 3 million games I have, just this one. What has me concerned is that only a few of us are reporting the problem, but the fact it only occurs in this game makes me think it's an issue of the beta (hopefully). The sound issue is so irritating that, while I am enjoying the beta a lot, I have to limit my games to only a few at a time because the popping/crackle/repeating sound gives me a headache which prevents me from REALLY delving into the beta. Instead of checking to see what may make a useful suggestion or noticing something that isn't right, I am completely distracted by the audio. I just can't win for losing. :(

Here is my dxdiag info, some feedback from the devs/stardock/anybody would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having the same audio issues and have pretty much the exact same setup as the original poster (realtek and vista, etc.).

I'll try to update my audio drivers and report back.

I experienced that in the previous beta version (but not in the very first version), to the point that I stopped playing. It has disappeared in Beta 2 : PTL.

Windows XP. SoundBlaster Live! card with most recent drivers (2002!).

Ok, I've tried it on two different setups and both have audio issues whenever more than just a few things are happening on the screen: crackling/poping/stuttering sounds.

The first setup is the Realtek and Vista setup mentioned above. Updating the drivers maybe made it a little better but it is still there.

The second setup is with a Creative SB X-Fi and Vista. It has the same audio problems. I believe I have just installed the latest drivers. The dxdiag is posted below. Thanks. Good luck.

Yeah, it's important to note that I am using an X-Fi as well with the latest drivers and I'm having the same problem that realtek users are having. I'm not too worried though considering it's just a beta, but I'm here to help let the devs know anyway! :D

Guys, to keep the threads readable, please post your dxdiags to pastebin or a similar external host (edited thread to outsource the existing ones), thanks.
