Does anyone have any tips for hosting or joining a game with Vista 64? I opened all my firewalls and prot ranges.
I've also had trouble connecting to hosted games. I stare at the "Trying to Connect" screen for a while and then at some point I give up and click "Abort Connect".
Sometimes I'm able to get into games, but more often then not I get stuck "Trying to Connect" and have to "Abort Connect".
It's not clear whether the problem is my side, or if the problem is with the machine attempting to host the game.
Therefore, I think it would be helpful if anyone had some tips/tricks for successfully getting into games. (E.g. Has anyone tweaked firewall/router settings and seen improvement in connection success rate?)
Also, what kind of information would be helpful in diagnosing the problem? (E.g. A dump of network traffic on the link between my machine and the cable modem while trying to connect?)
