An idea to make games end faster and to fix towers

Right now, it takes forever to end a game.  Even if you get the advantage early on, you can't make much progress because of the towers.  Even if you kill the enemy Demigod(s), you still only get a few seconds before they respawn, which isn't nearly long enough to do much damage to the towers.  Creeps can't help you much, either, since Minotaurs and Archers can't damage towers very well.  However, if you just weaken the towers, you have the risk of teams just getting 5 Rooks or something similar and going straight for the Citadel, which also wouldn't be fun.  So we need a way to make it worthwhile to kill Demigods without making respawn times really long (since waiting a minute to respawn would not be fun), and we also need to make it possible for better players to win faster (and for normal games to end sooner).

My idea is to set it up so that towers are weakened if a Demigod on their side dies.  Say you are playing a 3v3.  You take out two of the enemy Demigods and go for their towers, because the towers are now down to maybe 1/3 of their normal health; once the enemy Demigods respawn, the towers go back to normal.  You could do it with percentages so that for example a tower with 1000/1500 health changd to 333/500, then was damaged by your side to 100/500, then goes to 300/1500 when the Demigods respawn.

This would also make 1v1 games much more fun; instead of playing for ages until your solitary Demigod gets enough levels and gold to actually make progress, you can kill the enemy Demigod and then destroy some towers.  An expert could beat a newer player quickly by killing him/her, then taking out a tower or two, then killing them again, and etc until they win.

That would make playing with noobs or AIs suck even more than it already does.

And it would unintentionally nerf Oak as well.

I disagree with any change that gives players the option to be lame and die repeatedly to ruin the game for other players.

So how do you play any team game?  If you play an RTS like Supcom and one of your teammates is a noob and the other team has all good players, you are probably going to lose; if you play an FPS like TF2 and some of your teammates get themselves killed repeatedly, you will have a big disadvantage; if you play an FPS with friendly-fire, allies could ruin it by shooting teammates; if you play football and half your teammates decide to just sit down on the field, you will lose; etc etc.  You either make it so dying has a disadvantage or you make it so that games last forever; there aren't many choices in between.

How so?  Also, Demigods can be buffed :P.  I'm sure all of the Demigods will go through numerous balance changes.

So don't play with noobs.  I'm sure Demigod will have a rating/ranking feature.  Also, either the AI will be good enough that it won't matter, or you will be good enough that you can make up for it by killing more of the AI's anyway.

Well that sure would shorten how long games would be. Discourages lone wolf style unlike my idea, also a lot more thought out. :P

I guess you couldn't possibly play with other newer players instead of messing up good players' games.

Please, let's use our heads here.  You want to have a good game.  Everyone else wants to have a good game.  That means you want even teams.  That means you play with people who are similarly skilled.  Want to play with better players so you can improve?  Play ranked, or better yet, be nice and ask for some practice or something.

Not so sure this is the answer. Maybe a drop in HP but certainly not a drop in attack power. I still think that creeps should do more damage to towers so if they do get to them they can take some chunks off of them. This would give the side portals on a few of the maps so much more reason to take.

I agree that it probably isn't necessary to reduce the damage that the towers do; reducing the hitpoints is enough to make them easier to take out.  I just feel like something has to be done to reduce the stalemates that towers cause :/

Catapultasauri should be avaleble more easily. Ie: General should be able to summon them.

They'll spawn on their once that bug is fixed. Seriously, the whole "change towers" "break stalemates" thing needs to wait until the army spawning and War Rank have been overhauled/fixed.

Honestly, I have had little problem destroying my opponents towers, as Rook, Torchbearer, or the Beast. I have played the game very little with the other groups, but making use of items such as the decoy target in the shop make it much easier to kill them. If the enemey god interfers then it becomes a match of strategy and prioritizing offense and defense because of the slow regen rate of the towers.
