Problem connecting to games

Hey, I thought I would try out Beta 2 and I am having a lot of problems logging into games.  I HAVE connected to a couple, so I know it is possible, but it seems like I can only connect to a game about once out of ten tries.

Do I need to open up a port on my firewall?  Any work arounds?  Or if this is a known issue, can someone provide a link to a thread where this is being discussed?

Thanks!

Cykur

Hey Cykur - how've you been?

I think the instability is on their end currently. I've heard their cloud isn't working as it should right now. Once it's fixed, connection problems should go away... hopefully. I haven't had a multiplayer game yet either, although I've managed to connect (and create) lobbies with other people in it.

Hey Jinx!  Ok...just wanted to make sure it wasn't something I had to tweak on my end.  I have actually gotten a couple games in, but you have to make an awful lot of attempts before one works.  I'm sure they will get it resolved soon enough...

A friend and I spent from 11PM-6AM and only got like 3 or 4 games in.

It's rough atm.

I have not been able to connect to internet games, either.  In the Internet Lobby, I click a game and it just says "Trying to Connect" and goes on forever with no error messages.

EDIT: WOW I got into a game! w00t

Strangely, I can often connect to games, except when I am trying to join a game hosted on the other computer connected to my router.  That connection never works.  Someone mentioned port forwarding in another connection post, but I haven't gotten that far - I am trying to figure out what ports it uses - whether it uses both incoming and outgoing as the one the host selects...or...

I wish the search function on this site worked so I could minimize all the duplicate posts.

The connectability is slowly getting better with each patch. At first I wasn't able to join any games, and now I can get into a few.

I also have this issue. Also there are problems connecting to players in game lobbies, just like how in SupCom some players are nil.

Takes like 1/2 hour to join a game only to find you cant play. Very frustrating.

This was a problem with Supreme Commander, on some level - where repeat connections to friends had trouble working. One (note, one - not the only) culprit was making a new game after a game you just played and naming it the same thing (ie: Bob's Game) it was called for the first game.

I've noticed it here, too. Though I am able to connect and others to me (both friends and random people) it hasn't been a 100% success for all connections.

I cannot join any game (within a reasonable time-span), but if I host, people can join my games easily. Router quirk ?
