crashes at election

I had a game on the largest universe that crashed every time an election was called at a certain time. I figured my poor little Celeron 667 was just overloaded and maybe there wasn't enough room on my overloaded hard drive.

But now it is crashing on election in a game I just started! Is the crash when election is called a known bug?

I've seen this happen a couple of times when I was playing with downloaded and self created mods. Generally, removing the mod resolved the issue.
