[Bug?] Desynce Detected makes games unplayable for hosts.

The two games I have hosted where a player became 'Desynced' for a few sec were unplayable as the host as a large window pops up every 3 sec that makes every other button in the game un clickable.  Even after the problem is fixed and that player is back in sync and killing me I can do nothing but click on the error message ever 3 sec.

Yarp. Concur with this one.

Hasn't happened often but has made games completely unplayable, despite the fact thatall players are still in the game and playing.

that means someone is testing mods, hacking (unsuccessfully i might add), or there's data corruption in some form (big kettle of fish there).

once it happens there's no going back; just abandon the game as there is something different between game states across the computers.

it'll only get worse with time, i've seen network games of SupCom where one ACU (for the unenlightened, it's the big robot that you're in) has been blown up and another was unscathed entirely. one game ended then and there, and the other kept going.

granted this is based off my experience in SupCom and it hasn't happened to me yet in the beta, but there should be an indication of who has desynced.

when you find out who it is; yell at them.

Me 2.

Yes, it even more insane when you watch the replay, long after the game has ended for the two players, some people(ai?) play on. Another is that people see different the replay sometimes...

Interesting... I thought it was just a connection issue blown out of proportion.

If it's people cheating...

MOOGLERAGE. MOOGLESWEAR.

This happened with me also and played same guy twice once with me hosting and then once with him hosting got desync msg in both games

In Supcom it means you have different versions somehow. So either someone hasn't updated (or their update messed up) or someone has made modifications.

Actually that's a point, it happened once when I was playing with someone I know IRL. I KNOW he wasn't cheating (or trying to).

Still say this is a bug.

Well, firstly, ditch the idea of hosting, because such a thing does not exist in Demigod network terms. A desync means that your computers disagree about the state of the game. Once this happens, abandon the game.

Got this today.  I was desynched from two other players in game, but none of us were using mods or hackz...only thing like that was that I had adjusted net_lag in an earlier game on the same client.  Pretty annoying bug

I don't understand : what do you mean by that ?

there's no host server, except when setting up the game.

what happens when that player leaves, or computer crashed? the game continues on perfectly fine, there's no change what-so-ever.

the Moho Engine uses peer-to-peer netcode, each computer is effectively it's own server.

you get a desync when the computers disagree on something; they not synchronised anymore, hence 'sesync'.
