C++ Runtime Library error

Runtime Error! Demigod.exe R6016 -not enough space for thread data

When trying to launch Demigod from within Impulse, immediately get a Visual C++ Runtime error.  See attached screenshot.  Well, I would but there doesn't appear to be a way to upload images.

What did you do to fix it?  TIA!

Nothing. I tried it once and that popped up, and then I tried it again and nothing happened ("The game doesn't start at all" thread bug). I don't know what happened. It still doesn't work, though.

I'm sorry to report that I'm still getting this error.  I have installed the latest version available (I even uninstalled the "patched" version completely and then downloaded the entire game all over again and I still get the error in the screenshot above).

Worth noting is that this usually happens when I try to start the game and NOTHING happens.  The busy cursor flashes for a split second, then nothing.  No error, and certainly no beta to play!  Heh...

I get frustrated and click the shortcut a bunch of times, then sometimes the game starts and sometimes I get that error.

And, lest you think I'm some idiot that doesn't know how to double-click a shortcut, I've tried double-clicking, I've tried running it from the START menu, I've tried highlighting the game in the Impulse windown then clicking "run" in the lower right corner.  Nada.

Your OS isn't giving Demigod the needed memory I guess? Have you restarted Windows since this started?

I don't know of any real ways to fix the problem.

Chaos were you able to fix this?

I am also having this problem and still haven't solved it.. All the microsoft support links aren't helping at all, i have no idea what to do with it.

I have a couple of questions for those who are experiencing this problem.

Do you have Google Desktop or a Logitech webcam installed? Are any of you running Windows Vista and if so have you tried running the game as an administrator?

Two things that are worth trying are clearing out these 2 folders of files:

C:\Documents and Settings\USER\My Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Demigod

C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Application Data\Gas Powered Games\Demigod\cache\resources

(replace USER with your appropriate account name)

Thanks for your fast reply barrel

Im running XP as a administrator, dont have Google Desktop or a Logitech webcam installed.

Also about the folders, i dont have them. Maybe because the game never had his first start?

I wanted to let you know that i got a small workaround for it.

- Copy the exe to your desktop.

- Smash the exe 50 times and ignore the runtime warnings.

- It should start somewhere between the 30-50 attempts ;)

I do have a Logitech webcam!  Also, strangely, last night after getting the error above, I double-clicked again and the game ran just fine.

This "smash the game icon ~50 times" workaround functions perfectly for me, too!  Just add it to the documentation when the game is released and problem solved.
