So after some time with Beta 2, what do you all think?

Other than some games against the AI, I haven't had the chance to play any MP games (don't have time for the scheduled games).  From a design point of view, in terms of competitiveness, pacing, fun, ui, art, etc, how do you all feel this game is doing?  From reading various posts on the forums, it looks like most people (or at least the ones who frequent these boards) are pretty happy.

For me, I can see some promise, but I feel a little underwhelmed by what I've experienced so far (again, i've only played single player).  I've come to realize that this game is likely not one to be catered to gamers like me, so I'm now looking at it from a general design point of view rather than "what I'd like".  That said, MP will likely be a different experience, so I'm withholding judgement.

This is the same way I appreciate WOW and think it's a good game, despite me not enjoying it.

Damn you soccer.  Every thread I go to I agree with you.  You are really stealing my thunder with all your clever little points.

Anyways soccer is right, TB is very versatile.  He is able to be a huge teamplayer and very effective in ice form for team matches, while being pretty strong in 1v1.  I almost exclusively see him played in ice form, but maybe it is just because I try to join larger games.

Yeah, I agree with a lot of what is being said here.  I mean I am not trying to complain or anything but to me at least it seems like Demigod isn't quite living up to my hopes.  I know it is only beta 2 and blah blah blah but still to me at least so far it dosen't have the same gripping qualities that other games have had.  I just am not seeing the depth or variety of options with each character that I was hoping for.  As someone who posted before me said just doesn't seem like their are enough spells to say the demigods have several completely different builds.  That is how I feel about the game at least right now.

It could be connectivity that is cause for much of my negativity. Playing vs bots got annoying quickly. I want to verse players, 1v1, 2v2, 3v3. However past 1v1 has been almost impossible, and 1v1 is already rare.

The game looks pretty damn good. However it would be nice if light and dark actually looked different. The animations of everything is wonderful. Very smoth and just feel right.

From a strategy aspect I am not happy with the game. Very limited in what you can strategize.

From a time aspect I am VERY unhappy with the game. Because there is no mid-game joins or abilities to just go AFK without forcing your char to just stand there I find my ability to play the game diminishes greately since I do not know when I will actually have the 1hr necessary to run a full game.

Overall I got sick of the game within a few days. Play it once in a blue moon now, and post bugs/suggestions about it. The fun factor is simply not there for me right now.

I continuously return to DOTA because of its ability for unique gameplay opportunities.  Its not just that Zeus requires a different playstyle from Jugg, its that Jugg can be successfully played a number of ways, and that is requires further manipulation in a team environment.

In Demigod I don't feel like there's much opportunity for AOE or disables that offer a variety of strategies.  E.g., if I was to write a walkthrough about how to play Rook, it just wouldn't have much detail.

Its frustrating because there are so many improvements over DOTA, but from a gameplay standpoint it just doesn't have the longevity because after I've played for 10 hours I will have seen the vast majority of successful strategies with different heroes.

Really, REALLY needs more heroes, or most people are going to leave after they get bored trying the 8.

i think after thursday we should come back and see if more connectivity hopefully changes our attitude for the game. Trig i no the feeling I was about to say something really big but while iwas typing my reply ke5trel mad a reply saying what i was going to say while i was still typing.
