[Gameplay] Strategy in Demigod

Sorry to explain myself in french, this is a bit too hard to use english. I join a google translation.

 

Après avoir commencé à jouer à la beta 2, j'ai été plutot décu de l'aspect RTS présent dans Demigod. Et j'ai participé avec conviction au sujet "General".

Après avoir installé la version 2B (ou 2A) j'ai pu tester une partie 2vs2. j'ai été vraiment séduit par le gameplay de Demigod. Joueur contre joueur, j'ai vraiment eu à faire des choix strategique.
Contrairement à la plupart des RTS, Demigod ne tente pas de reproduire la réalité mais cré un univers à part, qui réagit à ses propres règles. Un peu comme un jeu d'échec.
J'ai du choisir parmi differents endroits pour mes attaques, j'ai du choisir entre le devellopement de mon personnage, de mon armée ou de l'armée générale.

A cela s'ajoute la nécéssité de maitriser son Demigod, et finallement c'est l'alliance de la maitrise et des decisions strategiques qui donnent la victoire.

 

Je ne sais pas si le jeu séduira les foules, mais pour moi il est clair que Demigod est un jeu au gameplay innovant et complexe. Un pari réussi par les talentueux membres de GPG.

Having started playing the beta 2, I was rather disappointed by the appearance in RTS Demigod. And I participated with conviction on the "Generals" discussion 2.0.

After install of the 2B version (or 2A) I've tested some 2vs2. I was really impressed by the gameplay of Demigod. Player against player, I really had to make strategic choices.
Unlike most RTS, Demigod does not try to reproduce reality, but created a world apart, which reacts to its own rules. A bit like a chess game or other abstract games.
I had to choose among different places for my attacks, I had to choose between my character, my army or citadel upgrade.

In addition, the need to control its Demigod, and finally it is the combination of skills and strategic decisions that give the victory.


I do not know if the game will attract the crowds, but for me it is clear that Demigod is a game with innovative and complex gameplay. A successful challenge by the talented members of GPG.

Thanks for the post.  I bought this game for the RTS options as well.  I personally am very pleased at how it is turning out.  I like you was disappointed with beta 2.  I also had moments where I was fearful of how it would turn out.  Like you said so well through google translation, this is a new type of rts.  It really exist on its own, and on its own it has its own strategy and style.  Personally, I like it a lot and with the time left before release, it has the potential to become my favorite game released since sins.

 

Unlike what I saw in RA3, CC3, and WC3, demigod offers something fresh.  It has a lot of depth, strategy, and really forces you to make choices.  It also makes online play a key point of the game.  To me this is a wonderful new genre.


Please don't think I am simply a stardock fan boy.  It just happens that SINS and DG are both exactly what I like made in two distinct ways.  Sadly, for my time, I am looking forward to elemental too.

Sins is having an expansion is it stand alone or normal expansion. Also I was trying to read it in french than I relized u translated it. I chose it for both rts and rpg aspects. The option of both is very refreshing. Mon francais est tres mouvais. oui ou non. I think I just said my french is very bad. yes or no. maybe maybe not

I can't believe I can remember all that... also, sorry to derail the topic a bit. Ton francais est assez bien; mon vocabulaire est tres petit mais je pense que ma grammaire est assez bonne.

 

On topic, I also enjoy the strategic parts of Demigod yet I think the tactical parts need some work.

Totally agree with that.
"plus bien" is wrong but understandable, "meilleur" means "better".

Can you tell me how bad is my english? :grin:

Your english is fine. I think it should be "my english is" but it's an easy mistake to make, even for a native english speaker.
