[Suggestion] Camera navigation via minimap

I'm not sure if this feature has been suggested in a previous post, I tried searching for it, but couldn't find any, so here goes.

 

in most RTS games (and DotA) you are able to move the camera to a given position on the map by left clicking the location on the minimap.

On several occasions while playing the Demigod beta, I found myself clicking the minimap wondering why the camera didn't move...

Is this on purpose, or has the feature just not been implemented yet?

Another option I would like to see is "jump camera to last ping" button.

I could be wrong but I think the minimap is just for graphic information purpose only.  It is not interactive like warcraft3/dota. 

You can't click on it and expect the same behavior as dota.  The minimap is transparent so if you do try to click on it, it will behave as if the minimap wasn't there.  For example, try right clicking on the minimap, your demigod will walk the few steps to the location where you just right click as if the minimap doesn't exist.

This minimap is the same behavior as WoW Battlegrounds.  Just transparent display information only.

i like the idea it can help a lot. i would like to see that but not change minimap just make it clickable . also it would help to make camera move faster with buttons or when u have the mouse button at the edge, currently is a bit slow

I don't think you really need to have any navigation via the minimap. All the maps we've had so far are far too small for it to be of any real use. No, I'd be happier with being able to hold click the scroll wheel to move around the map.

Up untill now when I have played DemiGod, I am ususally zoomed in pretty close, I sometimes Zoom out a little, just to get a better overview of the nearby action... and yes, it is quite simple to just zoom out a little more, to get that extra camera angle on the whole action.

However, in a game yesterday, I realised that I not only use the minimap for cameramovement, but for troop movement aswell, or at least I tried to use it that way (as you would in DotA/WC3) since it doesn't work that way as Blitz64 explained..

I understand that the size of the maps, somehow is an argument against a clickable minimap, but since I am usually zoomed in quite close, I find it annoying, that I have to zoom out first, and then move the mouse where I want to go, and then issue the move order, instead of just clicking the quickly accesible minimap, which is right there displaying the entire map anyway..

So basically I still withhold my suggestion of minimap camera movement, but with the addition of allowing moveorders aswell..

would amping up the zoom sensitivity be of any help? i understand that zooming takes (precious) time, more-so if you're unfamiliar with it.

I wish this would get implemented -_- I am so used to using the mini map. Theres a click amount count for how many clicks in mini map in Rise of Legends and I average 300 per game out of 2k clicks -_-
