When does Open Beta Begin?

According to a few sources, including here: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/317858 open beta should be comming out relatively soon (tommorow if it is comming with Beta 3). I'm wondering if the link is accurate and with Beta 3 will come open beta for the rest of the public (or soon afterwards).  I appologize if this has been answered somewhere but I've looked around quite a deal and haven't been able to find any recent information on the subject.

I ask because Supreme Commander's open beta was extremely helpful in terms of finding bugs as well as assuring me that I was going to buy a solid product, and to be quite blunt I'd like the same experience again.

I doubt you will see an open beta till late march!!!  You can pre-order today and have access to beta 3 when it comes out

I appreciate your response, thank you, is there any more official word then this though?  The reason I ask is that if is indeed in March then there really won't be any time for additional testers to give any feedback before the game is released, just a thought though.

If you want to influence this game then pre-order it now so you can get in beta 3. open beta will only be able to do some very final balance testing.  We already have a pretty opinionated active beta group that is providing a ton of information as you can see our forums are rocking with new suggestions.

Also you quoted a statement in July of last year they are already at least 2 months behind that schedule

I quoted that statement because it was the most recent one I could find that have both Beta 3 and Open Beta referenced in them and a tenative date. Also if you read the post there is another 2 months in that calender before the release of the game (sound familiar?). The reason I'm bringing up this issue is because many gamers don't like to commit money to a game that little has been released about as well as a game in such a state of flux.

It's true many people will be using the open beta as a demo, and while I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't going to try out the game in such a sense between identifying bugs and tweaks myself. I think it would be beneficial (I quoted Supreme Commander because I believe they did such an extrodanarily good job in this area) for the game if it were to have an open beta at a good stage before release.

All this is besides the point though, all I really want to know is a rough official approximation, if not an exact date to when the open beta will be released, assuming one is indeed comming.

Anyone who pre-orders can join the beta.

But there is no "open" beta in the sense that anyone can just download and play it. We'll have a demo after release.

Yeah, the comment referenced in the OP was about NDA vs non-NDA testing. Still takes a preorder either way.
