What about Europe?

Hello !

Well I'll explain why I've created this post. I've been looking for this game through google and I found this site (it looks very cool by the way ;-) ) cause Im interested to enjoy it.

Well.. I saw if you preorder the game you can join the beta, that's clear, but what about if I am from Spain? Could I join the beta? Stardock would sell me the game? even with digital download? (not physical shipping) or there is an European site? Cause you know sometimes there is restrictions about regions. I know the game would be in English but I don't mind.

Thanks to everyone and excuse me for my poor english ! :-)

Speaking generally, I bought it and I live in Sweden. I opted for the Digital only version. It was from this site. I don't know if there is a restriction for Spain, but there isn't one for Europe.

Yey! :) Thank you so much for your answer Heavenfall.

I finally bought the game. No restriction for Spain ;-)

Tack :-)

We sell both digital and box worldwide, as long as you have an accepted payment type.

Not entirely true. In case of Demigod the price was the same, but when I bought Entrenchment, I had to pay couple of euros more than the cost was in $USD. Now couple of euros isn't much, but when you put it into perspective, 20-30% more...

I'm not sure what you mean.

He's saying the price was higher in Europe than in the States for the Entrenchment expansion.

Same here, the prices in the shop are in dollar's (thats no problem). but the prices in the cart are in brittish pounds(a bug?). and when i move to paypal, the prices show up in euro's.

And I know what what you mean Phinor, I noticed it to:

 Entrenchment:

Shopprice: 9.95 USD

In Cart: 7.95 GBP

Paypal: 13.63 USD

My bank account: 10.13 EUR

i would like to know what happend with my payment....

It's supposed to be the same price but obviously we don't control conversions in currency.

We're saying we don't do the $39.95 in USA and $59.95 in say Australia.

That's the weird thing, with Demigod the game was supposed to cost $44.95, it was €34.xx at checkout and the receipt said $44.95 - the actual conversion from $ to € was done between my bank and Paypal and I got charged for 34€ give or take.

4 days later I'm buying Entrenchment and it says $9.95 on the site, at checkout it was turned into €9.95 and the receipt from Stardock says $13.94. That has nothing to do with conversion rates - Entrenchment goes from $ to € with 1:1 rate the second you place it in your cart and you are ordering from EU. I was charged €10.04 because Paypal and my bank have to turn that $13.94 back into euros again so it's not exactly the €9.95 it said at checkout but close enough. In any case the 1:1 from $ to € done within Stardock's own site is what the issue is all about.

I just double checked this and this is still the case. Placing Demigod into your cart puts it at around €35 (from $44.95 to €35) while placing Entrenchment into your cart turns that $9.95 into a €9.95.

There's a topic about this somewhere in the Sins forums, too.

I stil have both emails from Stardock and Paypal,

I've paid 10.13 EUR for Entrenchment, thats 13.63 USD (1 EUR = 1,34616 USD from paypal's email)

Why am I charged 13.63 USD while the online store says 9.95 USD? I dont think that has anything to do with conversion rates.

If Stardock charged me the 9.95 USD like they said in the store, I would have paid around 7.39 EUR

I've basically paid 39% more then Stardock told me they would. Ok its only 3 Euro, but the idea....

p.s. great work on the new Demigod update, looking forward to play/test it tomorrow !
