New Player - Single Player Questions

Decent Gauge of Progress?

So, I know this is a bit loaded, but in the single player (Internet->All Slots Closed but AI) mode

currently available in 2D, what would you expect from a brand new player?  That is, doing 1v1 against

normal AI, or next level AI, how long should a match take, roughly?

I don't want to share my times yet, don't want too many flames :P , but I can definately say I do

about the same with Rook and Oak, and with Regulus it takes me a bit longer. (I like Reg, but

feels much more like a good support DemiGod....But again, I'm new!)

Thoughts?

Depends totally on your tactic my tip is buy heal and mana potions and mass use them to own the AI then a game take (depends on chara and AI lvl)

5-20 minutes

Hope the potions get balanced soon ;P

10-45 it really depends on if your a fast learner or not. it will prob take around 30 because most of the time your trying to learn what stuff does and because game hasn't been balanced alot so games can be shorter. Also if u arn't familiar with the type of gameplay at all than it would take more time.

With most heroes I take ~25-30 minutes, but with Queen I take ~15-20 min tops. New player btw, bought the game 2 days ago.

I'd be interested in seeing how the tutorial will work for this game.  Is the single player going to go through each demigod and give a different tutorial for assassin and another for general?

I really liked supreme commander's single player, so I hope that this game is about as good.

I bought the pre-order today, about 10 hours ago...have maybe 10 games played already (I am going to freaking LOVE this thing when it ships!!!) and against the Hard AI, I usually win in about 15-20 minutes now. That's playing with Regulus and the Rook. With Sedna, it took almost 45 minutes (not really a fan of the General style of Demigod), and with Oak about 30. Queen of Thorns took forever, and even with so little playtime I can see why more people aren't fans of her. I haven't tried Unclean Beast yet but I'm betting I'll love him.

My usual play againts the AI- and it almost never fails -is to pick a side, either left or right, and just wear down the towers on that side while beating back enemy Demigod and troop attacks on my defenses in the middle,  and on the side that I am not attacking. Sooner rather than later, you end up capturing one of the two portals and at that point, it's all over for the AI. I made the mistake though of playing in one 2v2 game this afternoon and, after just 3 Ai matches, that was a mistake. I cost my teammate badly :)

I always have a teleport scroll on me, and at least one heal potion. Everything else is geared to recharging mana and health for me.

I have to admit...ever since reading the first previews of this game ages ago, I have been in love with the idea. I'm going to absolutely binge on it when it comes out. Demigod, even in Beta, rocks.

Thanks All.  So, right out of the box, my first time against Nomal AI, with Rook, 20 mins.

Regulus, took closer to 28.  Then Oak, just 15!  So then I upped the AI to "Hard", at that

point it was still Rook 20...but Oak and Regulus also both went to 20.  Hmm.  Want to try Sedna next.

The last game I played that was 1v1, wtih Rook against "Hard" only took 15ish. So I'm getting more efficient. Again, I understand the question was loaded, lots of playing around with builds, etc etc.  Sounds like I'm right in the mix of the norm for the other new players that have chimed in.  Can't wait to play against you all in ladder mode...for wins or losses. :congrat:
