E-mail Displayed

E-mail is displayed rather than a name.

Started the beta today, but every time I go in, my username is displaying my e-mail address instead of my alias. I've tried using a new profile, alternate profile, deleting and remaking a profile with no luck. Any ideas? Not sure if this is a Demigod specific problem, or Stardock in general, but publishing my address is not something I want to do.

I think that you have to go into either Impulse or some of the Stardock forums and change your nickname through that. The profile in Demigod isn't linked to your Impulse account.

I understand that. My profile here is "Freyar" (As you can see by my post here), but in-game it still shows my e-mail.

I had that problem before because I logged-in the game's lobby with my e-mail address. Here, I'm "CyberMage", and I can also use it (instead of the e-mail address), because it is my Impulse nick (as well as my forum nick).

So, instead of logging-in with your e-mail address, use "Freyar" : it will work if that is your Impulse nick.

To quote another poster who helped me, you can always change your Impulse nick (without changing the account's e-mail address, of course : that you should not do!) there :

« Open Impulse, Click Community, Make sure you are logged in, click My account, then Login....and then you should see the change username button. »

When I first went there, I saw "CyberMage", so I understood that I could log-in the game's lobby either with my e-mail address OR my Impulse nick (which also happens to be my forum nick).

(In a game, it was silly to see that my Queen of Thorns had a Hotmail address (with the @ !) as her name. Now, she's called CyberMage. I could always give her a feminine name by going into Impulse, before launching the game, to change my Impulse nick. But that's too much trouble.)

Thanks, that worked it out. Mildly curious as to why it allowed e-mail addresses to be displayed in the first place, but eh.
