Anyone else having trouble getting the exe to run?

So i love playing the game, i really do. But this problem popped up a couple weeks ago and is hampering my style.

 

I go to the shortcut in the start menu, and click. The little hourglass pops up. Then... nothing.

confused i try again. i try 5 more times. Finally i just go to the game file and try running the exe directly. Same thing.

eventually i get aggravated enought to begin clicking like a madman on it until a little warning window about no room for string or some nonsense pops up a few times. defeated and angry i try one last time to get the bloody thing to work, and it does.

For 2 weeks now, getting Demigod to run is like trying to start a 1976 nova with carburetor issues.

 

Help?

 

edit: things i have tried:

Reinstalled twice

checked almost every other program i have, none have the same problem.

Asked my computer tech buddy to look at it (does it for a living.) He had no idea (which i figured out after he talked for about 20 minutes, me understanding maybe 1 out of 10 words.

AMD dual core 3.0 Ghz, optimizer installed
4 gig ram
ATI 3870 512 meg
running xp pro svc pack 3

I just ran into this Myself. 

Couldn't get it to load from inside Impulse,

Couldn't get it to load from short cut. 

So I went right to the game.  Clicked about 10 times..  Each time the hour glass comes up for 4 - 6 seconds, then nothing.  After ump - teen times clicking it i got:

Runtime Error!

Program: E:\Program Files\Demigod\bin\Demigod.exe

R6016

-not enough space for thread data 

I thought maybe I needed to reboot.  So i cloesed everything down and clicked restart.  Took 5 minutes to restart.  Normaly takes less than 30 seconds to close down, and thats if I don't close everthing first.

 

System:

AMD fX60 @ 2.6 ( normaly run at 3.0, but new game and wanted the most stable platform posable)

ATI x1900 XTX

2 Gigs Corsair 2.3.2.2

No sound card,

same problem here.i can run the game by clicking more time on the icon demigod,so i play and i enjoiy it very much.

but the error is exactly the same.

the first time i upgrade to the beta 3 this problem dosent appear.than,sunday,i begin to have this problem.hope it helps for now,thanks and good work stardock and gpg :)

Same here. I played a lot of beta 2 and I was able to play Beta 3 without a hitch until recently. I've done two reinstalls to no avail.

The game will simply not run, I don't get a dialog box error, events on the event viewer. I notice the process appears for a few seconds and then seems to get instantly killed.


EDIT: If I click the game continously about 5-6 times it will eventually start successfully. This did not happen prior to Beta3.

Stopping Comodo doesn't allow it to run, haven't tried uninstalling yet.

EDIT: uninstalling Comodo allows Demi to run again just, fine, seems to be working correctly again.  Not sure if it stopped working because of beta3, or because of the recent updates to Comodo.   *sigh*

I actually use Kasperky as my firewall, and if I shut it down the same thing happens. Just can't get it to run.

Just to make a point - shutting down Comodo did not help me at all.  I had to actually uninstall it completely (at which point things started working again).

 

No, I'm not saying that this is a good thing, just trying to help with debugging.

I actully aren't abe to get it to run even if I klick multiple times on the .exe file.

 

Is there any hotfix coming soon for this issue or can we provide any further information to solve this problem?
