canceling pre order?

i dont believe you can cancel after youve played the beta. contact customer service for a definate answer. remember this is a beta and being so you can help mold the game into something you do think is worth the money.

It warns that they don't offer refunds on beta products when you bought it.  I think you have to wait until release.

Is there anyway we could get at least some money back since all we did was play beta?

You lose like 15%, I did that during beta 1 and got slapped with like 20 bucks less then I paid due to ordering the CE. They consider the beta the finished product. It's bs and the rules don't really state it, but I think they amended it lately to be more clear. There was a huge post on this awhile back.

The beta is not a demo, and in fact we warn anyone who asks "should I preorder?" to that effect. If you're not certain about getting the game, wait for the actual free demo after release. We can't guarantee personal tastes--it's your job to decide if you truly want something before you buy it.

I found no confusion in this point.  This is how games work.  You bought it, so you bought it.  Stardock is uber nice to offer any refund and I think it speaks to their committment to the customer and their desire for that image to be maintained.  That said, hope everything works out well for you, Hityoface.

Well, it's a pre-order and you don't have the final software so I don't think it's "uber nice" to offer a refund. Go to GameStop, preorder and cancel. You get your money back. I've worked with other companies that give full refunds even if you're in beta. Oh well, I'm sure the close hammer will hit this one too. Sorry you didn't search before you bought, it's an issue with most of their releases.

yes it is nice from them to offer a refund. You have bought the game knowing it is still a beta and now you want a full refund? Especially if you cancelled during beta1, what is the point to do so during an engine test?

When you preorder at Gamestop, you're not buying anything. You're only leaving a $5 deposit so they know how many to order, which is hardly the same thing.

Did you seriously even think about that when you typed it?  When I pre-order a game at Gamestop, even if I paid full dollar in advance, I have not yet received any product.  So of course I can cancel, they haven't SOLD me anything yet.

If I were you I would try playing the full game before you consider getting a refund.
