What kind of beta tester is Frogboy?

For reference

If anyone wants to know what I'm like during a beta when I'm just a beta tester here's some of my posts during the Supreme Commander beta (as Draginol).

Now in those posts I'm not super specific since it was still relatively early in the beta process.

I think in many cases, GPG benefits in Demigod because there aren't so many sycophants in the beta like there were back when Supreme Commander was being made.  Demigod has benefited from the critiques it gets.

One other helpful thing is that Supreme Commander critics (myself and Mike Marr at GPG) are involved in the design on Demigod.  The main limiting factor we have is budget and time for v1.0 and v1.01.

So you must be exited to be the publisher for demigod.   I wonder why you wouldn't want to publish supcom2 as well.  You mentioned you don't have the resources.  But you just opened a new office.  Couldn't you just just hire more ppl.  Or you can only handle one game a year and next year is elemental.

Anyways, I wish there were more developers/CEO in the game industry like you.

Finishing the basement and hiring devs one thing, but the way we handle the publishing Brad is very involved, as are several other people higher up in the company. And they only have so much time.

LOL oh Thygrr. I once posted a quick video on YouTube showing some SupCom action (just showing off the graphics and strategic zoom) and he felt the need to dissect my playing style on the spot from a 2 minute video. Needless to say his useless post was promptly deleted. :P

As for the beta and providing feedback, its amazing the difference in quality of feedback when people have to put their money down first. Its in their best interests to provide well-constructed feedback as the more they do that the better the end quality of the game is. Unlike the "demo-betas" where most people just treat it as a demo, and then go on and produce a 100-point list of what they don't like while completely ignoring the direction of the game or not providing constructive criticism.
