New AMD startup screen

I'm just wondering why there's a new AMD startup screen.  Is AMD paying for this advertisement?   Does this game run better in AMD processors?   Does some part of the engine/game use AMD code?

I'm using AMD Turion 64 processor myself so I hope its better for this game.

It is a business arrangement. There is also a direct link in Impulse to the ATI drivers site.

That direct link to ATI is because you have an ATI card.  The link changes to nvidia site if you have nvidia graphics card.

Thanks, Blitz, I didn't know that. Interesting...I wonder how it knows?

At any rate, Stardock and AMD/ATI are pretty tight. I think I remember seeing an AMD branded skin, and ATI has done at least one card giveaway promotion with Stardock, so I'm still pretty sure it's about the $$$.

Those details are available to any program on your machine via MSinfo/DirectX.

It's advertisement. No more, no less.

Kinda nice seeing something other than the old Nvidia logo for a change tho LOL.

Mikes78 has it right. I'm tired of that "The way its meant to be played" logo, and it's rather irritating. AMD's logo is much more soothing and the sound doesn't get stuck in your head like the Banana Phone song. 'Specially since ATI cards play most games better than the nVidia branded ones anyways.

you are just itching for a fight eh?  the old ati vs nvidia war is really pathetic.  Look at benchmarks and research instead of spouting drivel.

the last time I looked at benchmarks (shortly after the nVidia 200 series release)

ATI cards out performed nVidia under smaller loads, but nVidia quickly caught up and out performed ATI under heavy load.

this seemed to hold true pretty much across the board regardless of the benching app/game.

on the flip side, sometimes it just come down to the old personal preference. Some people don't care about the performace, they find a preference on chipset manufacturer and will argue to no end regardless of bench or performance that their fav chipset man is the best. I personally haven't owned an ATI card since RAGE was an infant. So I too am one of those who really doesn't care about which will out perform the other because in reality they all perform well. I have chosen that I prefer nVida cards and have used nothing but for years.

Yeah, it's all personal preference. Radiohedwig seems to think I was bashing nVidia, whereas I was just complaining about their "The way its meant to be played" logo.

Personally, I go where the performance is, and right now it's ATI; I used to use nVidia in the passed all the time. And right now, as per "nVidia works under better loads", well, current benchmarks show them working better in the middle, and ATI better on the low and the very high. :P Thus why I have an HD4870 right now.

Anyways, back on-topic, I was curious if Demigod will future AMD's "fusion" logo along with the normal AMD logo?
