War Rank and War Score are nearly as important as gold and experience, if not more so. However, they are relatively hidden compared to other "resources" in Demigod.

War Score is gained by controlling flags; control more flags and your war score will increase faster......

nice write up, Dalzk.

The upgrading reinforcements one is really good too - had an ally yesterday who got priests at level 3...which meant by the time my team was at level 10 the enemy were all at level 15 :/

Oh thanks a lot :) This TotW was done by Gnats3 and the reinforcements one was done by me.

And yea when people reinforce stupidly like that it can be very annoying!

If anyone has some ideas for out next TotW please post it here.

This week's tip of the week was very helpful - I really had no clue what war scores related to which war rank.  :)

Ideas for future tips of the week:

- Minion idols (difference between the idols at different levels, when to buy them, etc)

- When to use capture locks on flags (and when not to?)

- Often overlooked items

- When to capture neutral portals; does capturing them early provide an experience bonus to your opponents?

how can war score be mroe important than gold, you need gold for the upgrades.

And to upgrade you need War Rank :)

War Rank and War Score are nearly as important as gold and experience, if not more so

Had a crazy game today, objective was to destroy enemy fortresses. There were only two flags available both deep inside the bases. We didn't pay attention and just passed quickly around it, so basicaly we had no flag captured the whole game.

Hm, at some point I realized our warscore was 0 and could not buy any upgrades for the base apart from the first ones which require just money.

Not the case with the enemy though, they were doing good and it seemed we will loose. However, me and my teammate started leveling very quickly by destroying the vast enemy forces and the balance turned to our side. We also got huge amounts of money and bought all the crazy expensive items around. This eventually made us extremely hard to get down and the enemy lost, but I still think we were a bit lucky.

Didn't knew why our war score wasn't growing until I read this, thanks...

Yeah, but you only need warscore for citadel upgrades, whereas you need gold for them AND items.

Yeah, and IMO controlling flags is a dumb as rocks way to have your war score increase.  It takes a lot away from the player vs. player aspect and puts it more into the "run over here" aspect.

Gods forbid you need to excercise strategy and tactics to manage the map too :| :inlove:

This is usually true, but there are times when getting early priests can be an advantage. Specifically on fortress matches where you are specced to push and want the game over early.

The war score is always worth it, IMO.  Every flag you steal not only increases your war score, but decreases their's.

That said, War Score isn't as important in a 1v1, especially if you're not killing the other demigod.  This is because you're the only one there to purchase citadel upgrades, and chances are even if you don't have map control your war score is increasing faster than your gold reserves.  You won't be able to afford the upgrades unlocked.  This makes map control less important in a 1v1 scenario.

I've come to the conclusion that war score should be set to "slow", or income rate set to "high" in a 1v1.  Otherwise the income to war score ratio just goes wonky.
