How's performance compared to Supreme Commander?

I ask because it's marginal on my system, and while the game looks quite interesting, it also looks like a multiplayer game.  Being on satellite, that's pretty much out.  If it will run smooth as silk I might get around to it before my next upgrade anyway, so I'm looking for a performance comparison between the two in the gpu department.

Now in your Run or Search bar when you hit the Windows key...type in dx diag...this will tell you your system specs.  Match them up to see if you can run it and whatnot.

Demigod's performance is pretty much the same or slightly higher than supcom depending on the map.

Yeah I think they used the same engine or something similar.

I have an ATi Radeon X 1650se with 9-in-1 card reader. all the requirements are meet, would i be able to run it?

Yep...but I have nVidia graphics card so I'm not entirely sure how ATi cards work...but I assume your 1650 is better than a x800 as it says above in the Demigod requirements...

This line is outdated; the minimum on the ATI side is an x1600 (needs Shader Model 3).

I'm running a nvidia 8600mgt 512, 2 gb ram..., vista home premium 32 bit, 2ghz dual core and the supreme commander demo runs fine, and the demigod beta ran even better (and if i ever upgrade my ram, even better than that).

This game is a real phenomenon, and when you get in a good match the tempo (and this opinion is based off the beta build) is perfect for how much i want to play games (30 minutes to an hour), and it's an exciting game. It's ranks up there with some of my all time favorites (battleield 2142, Sim City 4, Left 4 Dead and Hot Shot's Golf :| )

i have a ati radeon x1300 will that work? i can run supcom but it lags like crazy. :'( then again, i have like 5 mods enabled as well and all the ai does is spam units, i play fine online

If you're video bottlenecked then performance will be the same or slightly worse; if you're processor bottlenecked then performance could be 3-4 times better.

I believe the game is done now. Go make a demo so people stop asking if their computers can run the game. That is actually what is keeping me from buying the game asap.

Supcom kills your processor, the requirments are misleading, 1,8ghz? It performance was abysmal with my old 3,2 ghz+1gb ram computer even on the smallest map with one player, 2vs2 was pretty much out of the question. You need a dual core for supcom and a good one if you are click heavy.

Demigod on the other hand can be played with a pentium 4, IF you have a good Graphics card, that with RAM is your only bottleneck if your not playing with a proccesor from the past century/millenia.

Well, at least I got two answers in there. :)

Being a picky little shit with it comes to frame rates and resolution, I'll probably hold off then.

I've got an Athlon X2 7750, 4GB of RAM and an Nvidia 9600GT and I can run the original Supreme Commander at nearly full settings with extra visual goodies like AA and AF on at 1680x1050 resolution. If your computer is more powerful than mine, you should have zero worries. If your is less powerful than mine, I couldn't give you any ideas about performance without some details about your computer.

Though I see somebody already posted that they could play the Demigod beta on an 8600gt with decent performance so that's a lower (and maybe more helpful) benchmark to judge your computer by.
