NVidea GeForce 8400M GS
Plenty of harddrive space.
I know that I'm over the bare minimum requirements, but how well will the game run on my system?
You should run fine
Actually no it will not run fine. The 8400M GS is a crappy video card for games. It's best to wait for the demo or wait until someone on this board can run it on the 8400m. Based on the benchmark scores an 8400m get, compared to the minimum desktop 7600 this game requires, 8400m is like half as slow as the desktop version.
Per suggestion in another thread, I'm downloading the Supreme Commander demo to try (the demo is huge though so I'll be a while. If I can get the Demo for it to run fairly well would it be safe to assume Demigod would run the same?
I'm running on an ASUS laptop with a 7700m and dual 2.0s and it runs without a hitch at 1680x1050, albeit with the textures and detail at low. The game is extremely well coded, and I'm very impressed with how smooth it runs on such an underwhelming system.
No, I had a slow old computer that ran supcom demo fine but it's very slow for demigod. Besided, the demo for supcom had very few units in it, or atleast I didn't have the patients to make 40 units vs 40 units. Therefore I think it's a waste of time to use the supcom demo.
i have an 8400m and it ran call of duty 4 on default settings perfectly. i also could get it to run assassin's creed and crysis at the low settings.
there are newer, better drivers for 8400m that improve performance and allow overclocking (stuff that i never tried yet). i plan on getting it, so i'll let u know how it runs.
This game is running extremely smooth for me... They did a very good job, imo.

I've only got the slightest hiccup when I get a huge cluster **** near a citadel when all the reinforcements converge, but I think that's sorta related to my sound card because it get's all staticy and farts then I get a 2 sec stutter, it's very rare but seen it a few times.
I think the key to your statement is you used low settings. Lots of people will run those games on that card and be angry that at max res and texture setting they don't get 30+ FPS. I think an 8400M will be good on low, but try sup com demo. If you run that, similar settings on demigod run a hair faster.
I just got done playing with the Subcom demo...even with textures on high in ran fairly well even with quite a few units on the map. I think if worst comes to worst the low setting on Demigod will work. I'll post an update when I'm able to download from stardock.
Sounds great and I am sure people will appreciate your "performance report". Nice to know what people's results are.
yea i would like to know as well how the 8400m does. I was very close to buying a dell laptop with 8400m but i didn't want to take the chances of not being able to play demigod.
I have a Radeon 1850, or was it 1950? anyways the game lags really bad
my cpu is @ 2.4ghz and 2 gig ram
i must upgrade which i will, im spending over 200 dollars to play demigod, but in the long run ill have a hd card to along with m 37" hdtv
What cpu is it? If it's single core, then there is your problem.
Demigod should run well on any dual core cpu fine at any speed. I had a radeon x1650 card and it was very laggy due to my single core p4 2.6ghz.
Yup its single core. Thats a problem too
Is mine good enough for high settings?
[email protected] Can overclock heaps more

I use 1920*1080 Full HD Resulution with my TV hooked up to my computer. And if we can use a second monitor like in SupCom then I have a 24" Dell 1920*1200 to add.
is there a lot of in game customizability in terms of graphics? like can i crank down the resolution and texture quality but leave all the special fx on, or is it just presets?
6 or 7 different things can be adjusted individually.
