Naval Maps & Naval Demigods

Sea Monsters or Ships

I dont have the game yet (preorder'ed and it will arrive next week) but I think it would be a good idea to have Sea Maps in Demigod with Sea Monsters or Ships as the Demigods for the maps and docks as the spawn portals for reinforcements. There was a Warcraft III custom map called Battleships that was like this and it was hugely popular among the Warcraft III custom game players.

So to recap for people that dont like reading too much heres a summary of my idea:

- Demigods for sea map are Sea Monsters or Unique Ships that are made out of special materials, are bigger, or transform into other stuff

- The reinforcement Portals would be Docks scattered around the map

im sorry but this is not a good idea. they only have 8 demigods, rather than turn them into boats, they should make more demigods and maps..

its probably something which can be done by a mod team which has a lot of time ;)

A Big Daddy demigod would be quite fun. With Little Sister minions. That would be funny...Never happen, mind, but still.

Yeah, I think the idea of boat-confined demigods would be a bit silly. Imagine the size and strength of the boat you'd need to hold Rook!

I would like a Poseidon-esque Demigod. Perhaps have the appearance that he's riding on top of a wave when he's moving? Big 'ol trident.

A Posiedon-esque Demigod would be cool... Maps with water (shallow or non-traversible) would be cool... but a "waterworld" Demigod game would not be so cool. :P

Basically this concept would require several new Demigods, all of which would probably only be usable for these maps and the originals would likely not be usable on these maps either. It seems like it'd be a lot of work.

An easier way to implement this might be something like this:

The map is set up to be a battle on two islands, each with a citadel and a few portals near the water, and a number of flags in the water that mainly control stats. All demigods can wade through the water, but while in the water, they can only use a few of their basic melee abilities and can't travel anywhere near as fast. Meanwhile, archers and minos from the portals would board boats that magically appear and take them across. The boats are quite fast, and demigods would have a hard time taking them out with their restricted abilities. And of course, the archers would be constantly shoot at the demigods as well, making things even more difficult.

Every portal on an island has a flag and is reasonably captureable, and would send spawned units at the former enemy citadel.

Actually, I could see this working, using the boat idea. If a Demigod could board a boat used for creep transport, it would foce the idea of moving up with them to attack a flag or another Demigod. Perhaps also if the DG was able to take temporary control of a group of creep to divert off course to attack a demigod wading through the water by disembarking from the boat. After alighting, the boat disappears/respawns near the portal and the creep then follow the DG to whatever they were going to attack. To offset this slightly, because the creep are so small and the water is likely going to be over their heads, they must start attcking something within X seconds of leaving the boat or they will die due to drowning. And even if they do attack something, their health slowly drains to represent the drowning. or maybe discount the whole idea of having a limit and just use the health drain thing.
