Should I get Demigod or a pedicure?

While this may seem like a strange post, I really need help in deciding this.

For my birthday, my girlfriend has offered to give me a pedicure or buy me Demigod (there's nothing else I really want right now).

First off, note that I have no money at all - and I can't think of a way to get both (at least until I get a job).

Personally, I would really enjoy a pedicure - I've never had one before, and my feet really need the attention (I'm 6'4 so I don't touch my toes often, let alone massage them and whatnot).

Yet, I have a really big impulse to get this game.

One fear I have would be to get Demigod, and then get bored of it and move on within 2 weeks or so and never touch it again.

Another fear is that I'll get depressingly addicted to Demigod - by that I mean that I'll end up always wanting to play the game, but then feeling as if I haven't accomplished anything afterwords, leading to depression.

So, my real question is: will Demigod give me a feeling of accomplishment from playing it, and will it continue to do so for as long as I stay addicted to it?

I also feel bad for my toes... could anyone shed some light on how great a pedicure is? Maybe I could just massage my toes myself...

I should also mention that I've played DotA before, so this concept isn't entirely new to me.

Have your girlfriend give you a pedicure while playing Demigod.

Seriously though, I would lean towards Demigod mostly because it will last a bit longer. That is of course unless it's your girlfriend that's giving you the pedicure and if it might go a bit...beyond. Rawr.

Haha, I should mention that my girlfriend would never touch my feet - she thinks they're disgusting.

I would take the pedicure.

Get the Pedicure. Let Demigod have half a chance to be polished via patches. The game's netcode/connection problems are woeful.. Apparently

It was supposed to be updated on their side Monday, but Gamestop released too early.

Ah, than that's a bit less tempting, hehe. Honestly, the choice may only be hard because you've never had a pedicure. Would you choose a really nice dinner over Demigod? If so, get the pedicure. It's not like you can't get the game later anyways, I suppose. As much as I love gaming , being treated to something relaxing and unique might of been a nice breather.

I read the thread 'Testers: Post Final Demigod Game Reviews Here' http://forums.demigodthegame.com/344845

So far, I'm leaning towards a pedicure.

That's probably a good reason why beta process are a pain in the neck to companies and why NDA's are enforced so strongly for most games. Beta != Free Demo. While they are rating beta and while they probably won't be that far off from release, it's important to note that. Some people seem to forget.

More of an old sore from other beta's more than Demigod's own one, still bothers me a bit though. I don't play it myself anymore, but from the stuff people were saying from WoW's beta you'd think it would of flopped long ago. Go figure.

Your girlfriend is testing you, do not fail. Let's look at the facts.

- She knows that you know she thinks your feet are disguiting.

- You're unemployed.

I've seen it before. Woman falls in love with man. Woman gets the impression (true or false) that he wants to stay home all day playing games and not get a job. Woman leaves man. The time it takes varies on the strength of the relationship. Getting the pedicure tells her that you want to improve yourself for her and that games do not have a stranglehold on you. If you want my suggestion, get the pedicure. You might get a job soon and then easily afford Demigod.

Those are some good points...

I'll have to sleep on it.

Logic would tell me to wait for real reviews to come out before making a decision.

Unfortunately, I have the urge to make an impulse buy - maybe I should uninstall Impulse, that might help.

Yikes! That's a scary thought.

I guess Demigod will have to wait. #:(

Vides games will leave you with an empty feeling in the end. Nothing comes from nothing. Demigod is a great way to relax for a little while AFTER you get on the track where you can afford a $40 game and find a girl who will touch your feet no matter how disgusting they are.

Depops has it straight, far as I can figure. Pedicure now, Demigod later. Plus, you can try the demo when it comes out.

if you really like this girl and if she "is" testing you get the girl. but i doubt it if you been together for a long time.

how is your feet really that bad? lol. its not like your a construction worker or some sort.

if your unemployed what do you do to get your feets all f-uped?

do you have a picture or something ? lol . i mean seriously haha do you stay home all day and some how get messed up feets? o_O

but still. demigod is fun to me. :) i bought it and my gf knows im addicted to games but she would never leave me :) because i try to get her into it too haha. then she knows that i still CAN do things together even though its a game.

OHH! you can do that too :) get her to play with you? lol. play against computers or each other! it might also mean you can still do things together even though its a game.. but who doesn't play games? lol

but no matter the less, good luck :)

Thanks for the advice guys.

My feet aren't messed up, just the toes - I don't cut them often, so they get all broken and ugly looking (mostly through playing sports).

Anyways, in the end, I love this girl and I won't let any 'demi'god get in the way, no matter how powerful it is.

BTW, make sure to give your own feet a good cleaning before a pedicure. (Can't be too sure.)
