Download time

So, only 4 min to go?

What i was wondering, what do you expect the download timespan to be if i start the download right away?

Stardock staff enter the office at about 9:00 EDT.

That means keys are likely to be distrubted at around 9-12 EDT (thats in about 2-5 hours or so)

The use of EDT confuses me, what's that in GMT?

I believe 9AM EDT is 1PM GMT.

Something like GMT-5 or -6 or -7 ^^

about 2-5 hours =P

if you look at the bottom of the it tells you the time on the server.

looks to be -5 GMT

on another thread kyro confirmed that should be releasing the keys 9am till midday EDT, so 36 minutes to go till 9am :P

not that i'm counting or anything, just for information only ;)

to avoid any confusion this server is running on EST which seems to be -6 hours from GMT/BST

though te release time for quoted on EDT time, which is -5 hours from GMT/BST,

if i am reading this correctly.

So the minimum wait time is 30 minutes

Let's see if i can survive that long.

Anyway, back to topic. How long to you suppose it would take?

50min?

It's my first time using Impulse, steam usually gives me ~230kb/s

well i recently downloaded sins of a solar empire through the new impulse design, latest version.  And Sins is 1.43 gig.

It took around 10 mins if that on my connection, but i have a 10mg broadband connection, so i think all things based on that and demigod is supposed to be? 2gig ?  might take me about 15/20 mins on my 10mg line.

that is if you want something to go on.

Have had sins since its launch but had to reinstall it recently again to fill the void of demigod lol.

sigh, lol why did it have to release so late? I GOT STUFF I NEED TO DO TOMORROW!

Am i only one sat here, reading multiple threads on demi gods, with another tab open on my browser direct to my email inbox, and occasionally refreshing the inbox to see if THE mail of the day has been sent yet :P  ?

I have gmail, and use gmail notifier, so no need to hold a window open.  Got Invader Zim running on my laptop, and playing Team Fortress 2... waiting can be fun too...

No you are not and even though I have so many games to play and movies to watch I can't do that cause all I'm thinking about is Demigod and I just found out that my copy of FF:ACC is shipping today aaaaah how will I tolerate all this. X( X(

Do you have the beta? If so, impulse will update it i think.

By the way, time is up!
If i have the same email in the order and the impulse account, will it automatically be added to the games list?
Or do i still have to add the key by email?

I'm in the beta, but I believe it was said that we would have to uninstall the beta before we install the full version.

OMG! 10MB!! that is so fast it's not funny. Seriously out here in Australia I have the fastest net which is like 1000-1500kbps lol.

I have a 3mb line, the common here is ~7mb

Still no mail X(

Anyway, considering the amount of downloads to be expected at the same time once people get their keys, do you think there will be a major slowdown in download? Or will the servers handle it?

well, 10mb, i am using to stand for megabit, 10 megabit line (a pose to a 10 Megabyte line), so in actual fact that's 1000 kilabits per second, or more accurately 1024 kbps.

soooo, ur faster than me :)

didn't mean to sound really fast :P

*edit* however virgin have just launched 50megabit lines but i see no need in being that fast at present lol.
