Dlink DIR-655

Since Beta Build 3B I think it was, players with the Dlink DIR-655 N router have not been able to maintain connection to the NAT facilitator.

Port Forwarding does not solve the issue.
Running on the DMZ does not solve the issue.
And setting UDP Endpoint Filtering to Endpoint Independent does not solve the issue.

Bypass the router with a direct connection and there's no issues. Though obviously not an acceptable solution.

What can be done about this?

Im using the same router, latest firmware version, never had any problems with any other game, and as far as peer to peer is concerned, it works perfectly fine in any other application.

Tried the guide at teh top of the page, no difference at all, can't connect to any custom game and have yet to be able to successfully connect toany other game.

I was really excited to play online when i got home, about 3 hours ago i started trying to join games, needless to say im not so excited anymore :(

End of Flurus's quote

Yes I have Hardware V2 and Firmware 1.11

I'm well aware of the latest firmware issues.

But all the same, this is the only game I have ever had issues with and I know it's nothing with my PC or ISP because if I bypass the router and plug in directly to the modem I can play fine.  Again, though, most people have a router because multiple things need the connection. So a direct modem connection is not a solution.

Interesting. I have the same router at home, the same hardware revision (A2), and the same firmware (1.11) yet have not had this issue (aside from the trouble everyone is experiencing today). All settings other than wireless are at default. I have also used every beta for the past month and a half. Did you run the Impulse Reactor tool before forwarding the ports? This tool is located in your install folder (typically C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Demigod\bin\ImpulseReactorOptions.exe). Use the default range and then try forwarding that within your router.

That's a good sign then if you can connect. Lets find out what the differences are.

I'm hard wired, are you wired or wireless?

I'm connected with an onboard realtek card on my gigabyte mother, you?

I'm running Vista 64 Ultimate, you?

I did run impulst reactor as admin using ports 6002 to 6200 and I have my ports 6000-6200 forwarded on both TCP and UDP.

on Dlinks site the firmware options are for beta 1.3 but the scary thing is that many people are having problems from it and you can't downgrade from that build.
