HI
So i just bought Demigod today and was excited to test the multiplayer part immediatley.
My first match started without problems and i had a lot of fun for a full hour, but after this match i wasnt able to join any other games yet. Either i cannot connect to somebody or someone cant connect to me. everytime.
So now im sitting here trying to play online the rest of the day without any luck. To me this game is NOT playable ONLINE right now and im really sad now that i bought it to early.
If there had been a demo or beta access for me i probably would have realised how unfinished the online system is and of course i wouldnt have payed for it. I never had problems with online play with the rest of my installed games. i have disabled my firewall and even forwarded port 6073 and 6100-6200 without success.
so i come to the conclusion that it has to be a problem with the other players i cannot connect to or who cannot connect to me. what bugs me the most is that demigod uses this kind of system where every player has to setup their internet perfectly (which will never happen since not everyone has the knowledge). i have seen many other rts games who have a really easy to use online playing, where you dont have to mess with your router and everybody can enjoy the game equaly. if your browser has internet access you can play online. if the browser has no internet you cant. thats plain and simple and everybody understands it. but demigod brings it to a whole new level.
if you have internet access and bought demigod your far far away from playing online. in fact a lot of people cannot. and because of them the rest cannot play online too (the one who can play online cannot connect to the one who cannot and so they are both waiting and in the end they both give it up).
i think everybody here in the forums agrees that this online system is not finished and has to be fixed, repaired or exchanged (i know this wont happen)
thats what i feel right now.
hopefully all those problems can be solved someday.
yours TheBird
