Players not connecting on Pantheon

This is driving me nuts.  Has anyone else tried joining a tournament Pantheon game only to see several players connected to everyone, but  one player who is not connected to anyone?  That one player kills it.  The game can't on start unless everyone is connected, so everyone leaves.  I get to play maybe 1 out of every 6-7 games i try for b/c there is ALWAYS one player who connects to no one.

Happening to anyone else?

Whe I try to register, nothing happens, it just says I have the wrong username/password. I've done it a hundred times, I know I'm not messing up.

Do you mean you're having trouble logging in to the multiplayer or registering the game in impulse?

Kryo,

I think that what he is experiencing is this:

1. User is able to run DG fine

2. User is able to go into multiplayer and login fine

3. User is able to select Pantheon

4. While waiting for a game, the user is sometimes able to select a button in the lower right screen that shows the connection status of people trying to connect.

5. Lets say that there are 6 people listed, the game shows them all trying to connect to eachother.  4-5 of them successfuly connect to everyone else and the last one shows no connections to anyone.  The game will not start and people eventualy leave the connection attempt.

Yeah that has happened to me so far. I have tried to play like 10 games, have yet to even play 1 LOL.. Every single time i get in, it shows us all connecting then there is 1 or 2 ppl who dont connect to anyone. I tell ya this is slowly killing the multiplayer aspect for me seeing as how i have yet to get it to work.. If i can only play 1 out of every 10 games that is going to be very lame LOL. Should make it so it drops someone who is not connecting rather then forcing everyone to quit and try their luck again.

A better solution would be to publish a guide or setup tutoral to ensure that everyone's routers are setup properly to allow connection without issue. There may be one already but without a real manual how would we know?

I was replying to blimstud, not the OP, sorry if it was unclear. The "poison pill" users who can't connect or be connected to in matchmaking are a known issue. We're looking at giving hosts some options to address those so they don't kill matches before they start.

Kryo,

Before allowing a player to execute the "fight" command in multiplayer, could it 'ping' a server using the same port(s) needed for a successful p-to-p game?  The game could then notify the player that they are not configured properly rather than have that player preventing games in the matchup system.

I'm trying to login to play DEMIGOD multiplayer, but it keeps saying that I have the wrong username/password. any ideas?

Furthermore, the the "Player hasn't connected to anyone yet" players are immune to Eject Player.

Theres an option that usually shows up which allows you to kick poison players, but it doesnt work.

As suggested in other threads:

If you join pantheon and find a matchup that starts to connect you people together, wait at least, eltsay thirty seconds. If there is still people that are not connected to anyone wait a fifteen seconds more and if not helping cancel.

As said, its known an issue. Anyone on the list of your peers to join the match if even one isnt joined to anyone the match wont launch also if ANYONE else quit it wont launch. So if you see anyone leaving you better hit cancel and start another search, yours wont be launching.

For some reason the lobby/pantheon keeps on claiming to search for players or even matches sometimes when it simply dosnt, it just that servers are so overloaded it seems to take 2-5 minutes for the servers figure this out and then they give you a NAT error if someone quit or there was one of those no connection people with you. To speed things up, cancel... reque... and hope you find handful of people whom can all connect and dont quit up prematurely. It sometimes takes a little while for folks with bit longer pings to get even one connection setup... but it happens, been there.

Just no sense staying minutes there, thats kinda a way how you can get to pantheon matches faster. Minimize your frustration to quit queuing for lost cause matches and seek one that might actually launch. I can tell you that even us that get into matches, the success rate of a actual 'match' being queued to launch is perhaps what? Good if its one in ten, occasionally little better sometimes worse.
