LAN/Online problem! (Now with a sullotion for some of you guys.. Maybe..)

LAN/Online problem! (Now with a sullotion for some of you guys.. Maybe..)

Cant connect to online games, ports are forwarded etc. It just doesn't seam to work.

EDIT2:LAN games does seam to work now, but we both cant connect to online games.

When we ( my brother and I ) starts a LAN game and wats to connect to it it freezes on the message "Connecting to players, please wait...".

That happens both when I host and my brother tries to host it.

Anyone else have the same problem?

We've tried to use Hamachii with no success.

EDIT1: I tried a online game and I've got the same problem there as well......

This game ends up in the trashcan if I only can play singleplayer games with it. DotA at least works..

"Connecting to players, please wait...."

EDIT3:

Ok nevermind, I got it to fucking work!!!!  }:)

@Monk, you should tell people who have had the same problem as I have with the double-NAT problems that they should put their second router as an accesspoint instead, that fixed it for me at least. Or at least in the PFPortChecker program. Haven't tested it ingame yet.

I found this in the Security section of the DLS-router/modem:

Incoming IP Filtering Setup

By default, all incoming IP traffic from the WAN is blocked when the firewall is enabled. However, some IP traffic can be ACCEPTED by setting up filters.

Could this be a problem, and if so, how would I setup the stuff in there where the options looks like this:

Add IP Filter -- Incoming

The screen allows you to create a filter rule to identify incoming IP traffic by specifying a new filter name and at least one condition below. All of the specified conditions in this filter rule must be satisfied for the rule to take effect. Click 'Save/Apply' to save and activate the filter.

Filter Name:

Protocol:
Source IP address:
Source Subnet Mask:
Source Port (port or port:port):
Destination IP address:
Destination Subnet Mask:
Destination Port (port or port:port):

WAN Interfaces (Configured in Routing mode and with firewall enabled only)
Select at least one or multiple WAN interfaces displayed below to apply this rule.

  Select All  pppoe_1_33_1/ppp_1_33_1

<!-- hide { var i = 0; var interfaceInfo = 'pppoe_1_33_1/ppp_1_33_1'; var interfaces = interfaceInfo.split('|'); for ( i = 0; i < interfaces.length; i++ ) { var names = interfaces[i].split('/'); document.writeln("<tr> <input type='checkbox' name='ifChk' checked value=" + names[1] + '>' + '&nbsp;&nbsp;' + interfaces[i] + "</tr>"); ifCount++; } } // done hiding -->

oohus,

SPI is still off on the D-link as well an the NAT-endpoint filtering set to endpoint independent?

You could try enabling/allowing those ports in the NAT-table of the DSL-modem, but unless the DMZ on the DSL-modem isn't really DMZ all of that should already be being allowed to be passed to the D-link.

Are you certain your ISP isn't doing NAT-filtering of any kind?

I helped a few people from the UK back with World in Conflict and it turned out SKY-CABLE an ISP in the UK had set some NAT-filtering options as ON by default.  As soon as these people got their ISP to change that, their port-forwarding setups worked as they should.

End of the_Monk's quote

SPI is off, and the NAT-endpoint filtering (UDP/TCP) is set to endpoint independent.

I'm pretty sure my ISP isn't doing anything as thats not normal in Norway. We don't have any restrictions except for maybe on unviversities etc, but I live in a normal house so that should not be a problem. And I can perfectly fine play other P2P games right here, right now. Its with Demigod I started to get problems it seams. I can play Warcraft 3, Counters-Strike, World in Conflict etc etc perfectly fine.

oophus were you in beta

if so the same thing was happening to me and it's a problem with old demigod settings saved on ur comp.  Go into my docs/my games/stardock/demigod and delete everything in there.  Rerun the game and setup your graphics settings and then try LAN.  There is nothing except this that would be blocking your LAN games.

I've got the LAN games to work now Radiohedwig, its the online games I cant seem to get functioning atm now.

I'll update the OP.

Have you used ImpulseReactorOptions in the game's bin folder to set each machine to a different range, and forward appropriately on the router?

I've got it forwarded from 6100 to 6200, and on 6073.

I can set it to 6112 to 6132 as it says in the impulsereactoroptions though, but I doubt it will change anything.. I've almost given up at this stage.

I'm gonna call the ISP tomorrow and ask if they got a sullotion to it all.

Ok, now I must have read like 100 pages about router shit and port fuck, and I've been trying to get this piece of shit game to work for three days.

Really? Why does some games work while this doesn't? Why do I have to learn about computer stuff to get a game I payed for to work?

EDIT:@ Monk

Are you a developer? If not, kodus to you man for trying to help me. Its weird that the communty is the one that tries to keep people wanting to play the game and not the stardocks people them selfs. I rearly see any stardock fuck trying to help their own costumers who have given them money for nothing when there is a huge pile of people clearly having problems with their game here.

Weird. I guess this will be the last time me and my mates will buy a game from them.

Maybe, just maybe I will try more tomorrow, but right now.... I'm fucking pissed.

I talked to my ISP and they did not block anything that should have been the cause of me not beeing able to open up ports.

What they said though, is that they would rather have me set my D-Link as an accesspoint instead of putting it in the Inteno's DMZ options.

Anyone knows how I can do that? In a D-Link Dir-635 B1 router?

What does LAT Viciliator means? I got an error each and every time it looks like I'm gonna get a game saying something like that.

At least its a new error I've never seen before. Does that mean that I have a problem, or the host/other people who are wanting to connect to me?

Here is the best way to do all of this.

Uninstall all antivirus/firewall software, disable windows firewall. Unplug your router and plug your modem directly to your PC.

"You want to make sure your PC is completely unsecure and is accessible by all Hackers...this is very important!!"

Launch a game and see if you have connectivity problems. If you do then all issues are on their end unless your ISP is reshaping packets.

"You must realize that your network does not function around your PC/Xbox360/PS3/Wireless devices, your network functions only on Demigod, you must put that state of mind if you really, really want to become a demigod"

Then install your antivirus software and test again see if that works, because you never know if you just caught herpies from visiting a porn site in between demigod games.

Install software based firewall if needed or just reactivate windows firewall and make sure Demigod and Impulse have and exception to allow traffic without filtering. Test again and record what happens.

If all is well and your life is flourishing as a Demigod its now time to take the final step.

Add your router.....follow Monks guide.

If all else fails demand a refund and stop wasting your life and time on this or wait about 1 month or 2 and try again if your desperate.

rofl....herpies
