Multiplayer is seriously "meh" right now and needs to be fixed. Especially Pantheon.

I'm sure this has probably been mentioned before, but I figure I'll add my voice to the crowd.

I know it's release day and we're still in the "30 day beta" portion of retail, but I'd just like to say that the MP needs fixing immediately.

Currently, any time there's anyone with a bad connection in a Pantheon game they get replaced with an extremely stupid AI that the other players eat for breakfast (literally). Also, this is a griefer and quitter's paradise, as they can leave out of any RANKED TOURNAMENT PANTHEON GAME and get replaced with a brain-dead AI. This alone is ruining games for me.

I'm a rather skilled beta player and I'm not all that interested in custom games, I like the favor system and the idea of the tournaments. But right now it's just not very well implemented. The matchmaking system is messed up and as mentioned anyone with a mean streak can ruin any "tournament" game. Currently with the matchmaking system I'm having issues connecting and occasionally have to disconnect from the matchmaking system and restart it to join a game, making it very stop-and-start. Also, as far as I can tell there is absolutely no skill matching system, meaning that I often get paired with noobs against two extremely skilled people. This I don't mind so much, but it's still another issue.

Really I'd be semi-happy if you'd just upgrade the AI difficulty that replaces leaving heroes. That's a bare minimum. A plus would be a more reliable and less buggy matchmaking system that matchmakes based on win/loss ratios.


Anyway, /rant. Just my initial impressions of the game (seeing as how it's 85% multiplayer and 15% singleplayer.)

Flame me if you wish. These are the pressing issues that I've found so far after a day of testing. I'm sure there are balance issues as well, but the connectivity needs to come first so we can actually play good games.

       Actually, I'm pretty sure there is a skill based matchmaking system. your probably getting odd matches because all the stats reset when retail came out. So everyones stats are almsot the same thus far. as people play that shouldwork itself out. Also, there is a network patch in the works already( I hear) that should fix most of the connectivity trouble.

i have who ever thought ranked games should be fought uneven.

 

I dont give a rats ass if they thought 2 v3 was fun in beta its a BAD idea for retail period, skilled players should not be gimped later on just because they are better, 3 decent players will have a easy time beating 2 skilled players for example and thats the way the stupid system works.

 

I just had a 1v2  game and got pounced hard not because they where better but because its immpossable to do everything myself and the AI is worthless.

 

Might not be bad if they make the AI  programed to win based on the battle type, flag caps hereo kills etc.. instead in everygame the AI just trys to rush the cithidal likes its a conquest map.

It's not even just that the AI rushes the citadel.

A big part of the problem is that any half-skilled person can quite literally farm the AI for gold and XP, and there's very little you can do about it. It's about as intelligent as a retarded cockroach.

And what this means is that any time anyone leaves for any reason, the game is OVER for that ENTIRE TEAM. Completely unacceptable.

Maybe if there was incentive for players not to drop then it wouldn't happen as much...i.e. if there were SOME stakes at risk in the games, even ranks without actual items or stat bonuses would be way better than the shit that is multiplayer now.
