Stuck on Arena loading screen.

Launching from Impulse works fine. Cinematic works fine. Menus and options work fine.

Once I try and start a Single Player Skirmish and click Launch (or whatever), the game goes to the Arena loading screen and just sits there with the completely non-intuitive blinking pyramid (is it too much to program a loading bar? Come on, now...)

No log files are being generated when I launch the game so... let me know what you want to see in order to troubleshoot, thanks.

Basics: Vista x64, Q6600, 8GB RAM, NVidia 8800 GTS, latest drivers, latest Windows Updates, fresh reboot. Zero problems with Dawn of War II, World of Warcraft, Neverwinter Nights 2, anything I play through Steam, etc.

I was having the exact same issue. On a hunch, I did the port forwarding thing in this guide:

I haven't had any issues since then. Also, I think it's important that you disable UPnP like it says in the guide. I'm guessing that it's wanting to connect to some online server during each map load - even for single-player games. Hope that helps, it seems to have worked for me so far.

I'll run through whatever is in that PDF when I get home tonight. That being said, it is pretty pathetic that I have to run through some 3rd party guide, or any guide at all, to get a game to run when it should work right out of the box.

The fact that I just basically paid for four movie tickets and then was told I'd have to spend an hour fixing the projector before I can sit down and enjoy myself is not only ludicrous, it's downright insulting to your customers.

 

Next time, build your game for and release it on Steam. There is nothing "special" about Demigod that the Steam network cannot handle (or, more probably, excel at handling).

I don't know I was playing the singleplayer tournament and on the 4th map loading I got this problem.  This is singleplayer so should have nothing to do with "Port Forwarding" as this is only when the game is connected to another peer.

 

It sort of miffed me since I was planning on winning the tournament to teach myself the game.  I wish there was a guide somewhere to teach you about the intricacies of the game.  As far as I knew it I was just running around with my huge assasin character beating shit up, dropping towers and well just beating stuff up with no real direction.  Obviously I was doing something right and pushing up to the citadel but that didn't make it seem any less random since I don't know much about the equipment I was buying other then buying the most expensive stuff and expensive health potion with my huge walking fortress.

Did everything in the PDF.

 

Swapped Demigod to windowed mode so I could watch TV on Hulu until Demigod decides to load past the Arena loading screen.

 

Been 2 minutes so far, started @ 8:03, it's 8:05 now.

 

Task Manager shows Demigod as using 4% CPU usage and 181MB RAM. Yeah, this is really going somewhere...

Updated opening post with DxDiag info.

8:28pm. Disabling Kapersky did nothing. Re-enabled it. Disabled all Logitech Keyboard software.

 

8:30pm. Started Demigod.

8:31pm. Demigod finally loads.

 

 

 

Get your shit to work with Logitech gear, please. Still giving this experience a whopping 2/10 for now.
