I have dual monitors.
When I play Demigod, my mouse just goes straight through the other monitor.
If i accidently click it, i get windowed... anyone know how to set it so it'll stay in the current monitor?
Same problem here. Is stardock aware this problem ?
Can you expalin again what is happening? I have two monitors but just play on the primary.
I play on the primary. When i scroll with my mouse and touch the screenside next to my second monitor, the mouse swap to this monitor. I think the game don't recognize the "border" between the two screens. I use ultramon to manage my screens. Actually i avoid this issue with using my keys for moving the camera but i prefer my mouse
Hope the information is helpful.
I have the same problem without Ultramon and a NVidia GTX260.
I have the same problem, it's been reported at least twice before from what I've seen during Betas and it has been ignored mostly
I think what he's saying is that Demigod doesn't trap the mouse inside it's screen so you can accidently move your mouse outside the maximized window on one monitor and click minimizing the game.
I've never tried it in a match but it definatelty happens at the menus.
any fixes in the works? Any solutions?
This really effects the gameplay for me...
It's like this in many games. You can use WSAD to pan the camera the same way moving the mouse to the border would, and playing in windowed+maximized prevents the alt+tabbing.
Very strange, I don't have dual monitors but unless in window mode generally does a good job of keeping the mouse trapped. I don't get any wierd anomalies when I use the windows key.
Probably a bug, as Assnatar said would probably be the best workaround unless you want to temporarily disable your second monitor for this game.
The second monitor is what causes this, since Windows sets it up so that when the mouse scrolls off the appropriate edge of one screen it hops on the other. So if the second monitor is to the right of the primary, then the right edge in a non-windowed game won't block the mouse, or the left edge if the second monitor is to the left.
But its a game issue. With different other games i didn't have a problem.
After I discovered this was happening with me, I quickly got used to using the middle mouse button so scroll, but sometimes it would jerk around when I did this. Not sure what is happening there. But yeah I hate off clicking on accident sometimes.
I have this problem as well, running a Geforce 8800. It seems that as long as I have no windows open on the secondary monitor it works just fine, but if I have something else open the cursor doesn't get caught on the border. While annoying, I've gotten used to using WASD to scroll to the point that I almost never use the mouse to scroll.
Yes. Its NOT a graphics problem. Any fullscreen app should not allow the mouse to leave its monitor.
FWIW, not an issue in windowed (ick) mode, and i can attest that a R4850+Q6600 can keep up even then. It's nice to be able to browse for info while playing.
Hm, I too have two monitors but this doesn't happen to me.
Win XP64, 9800GTX, driver 182.08
[EDIT] Correction, happens to me also, only I have used wasd for camera and didn't noticed it.
Are you actually clicking into another app, or just onto the desktop? It's not 100% for me at any rate.
It does happen to me also, but i have only used wasd and never noticed this. It's 100% if I have another window on the second monitor and I'm clicking on it.
Happens to me as well. Game plays on main monitor, if I move to the edge of my second monitor to try to pain the camera, it just goes onto the other monitor. WASD works around it, but as mentioned above, there is the danger you might click something on the second monitor, which works like an alt-tab, minimizing demigod.
They need to use the ClipCursor and GetClipCursor functions in the code to keep the mouse cursor in the game window. Its easy to overlook this if you don't code or playtest on dual monitors.
It traps the mouse on the menus, and even in game once, but other than one time, it doesn't work. WASD is possible but it means my fingers aren't on hotkeys where they belong to spam abbilities and items where they should be.
