Can't play online, can't play with pirates..

I downloaded the new patch today, which still hasn't fixed online play, and now I have a newer version installed than the many pirates on hamachi who I have been playing online with. So now I'm pretty much boned either which way, while the piraters continue to play together. /sigh

how about you stop playing with Pirates and play with peeps with legit copies over Hamachi? Lord knows there's been many of us who've made networks over the last couple days for legit players.
On another note, I can't believe you had the nerve to come on the Stardock website and actually post a complaint thread that you can't play with your friends who've bootlegged the game. I'm sorry, were they supposed to keep interest in the non-paying customers?
No, but people like myself who have legit copies cant play legit people either.

So, misleading thread title: The patch did nothing to Hamachi connectivity.
The patch did nothing to hamachi connectivity, but it did make it so people with the original version of the game cannot connect to me and vice-versa. These people are not my friends, they are randoms from a variety of well populated hamachi servers I've been playing on since last night. The point of my post was to express my frustration with the fact that the new patch didn't fix the online play, while simultaneously ruining what online play I did have going with hamachi. I will look around for some hamachi servers with legit, updated players, but man I gotta admit the servers I was on were great. Like 50 ppl online each one, and there was 13 of them.

And if anyone cares, I did in fact give the pirates a good bit of shit over the hamachi chat. They were all scrambling to find the new patch online unsuccessfully while I tormented them with the fact that the game cost $40 and that if they skipped a few mac & cheese dinners they could afford it. At least I can still enjoy that.
So... You are upset that You who patched the game can't play LAN with people who didn't patch the game?
More accurate would be I'm upset that I can't play with people who did update the game and I'm NO LONGER able to play with people who didn't update the game. I can still play over hamachi with legit updated players, but those hamachi servers are hard to come by, usually have 15 persons / server, and simply don't compare. You gotta hand it to em, pirates know how to pirate.
Thats exactly what he's saying. I may be wrong here but aren't most games that have different version number incompatible with each other? So your asking SD to make it possible to either let the pirates patch to latest build for your enjoyment ( err no.. ) or how about you just reinstall the game from its original version....don't patch... ( also deal with the bugs that aren't going to be fixed in that version ) and now play with your pirate buddies
