very choppy gameplay

i have a AMD Athlon 3000 64   Radeon x800 256 mb  1 gig ram and windows xp pro. when i try to play the game it runs extremely choppy. im not sure what i would need to upgrade to play if i need to. any help would be appreciated.

you need to upgrade.  Most likely your video card, the minimum requirement is x1650.   Your cpu might need upgrade as well, so maybe just buying a new computer is a better option.

thank you blitz64 i built my computer so i will be upgrading it. if anybody could suggest a video card/motherboard/processor that would run this well (best bang for the buck i have a $300-$400 budget) i would appreciate it again thanks for the help.

I would first try to start with option "demigod.exe /nosound"

I had bad frame rate before that... then I found out to switch to Stereo instead 5.1 and the framerate is stable and fine now

I have AMD Athlon 3000 64, nvidia 7600GT and 2GB RAM...

I have a q6600, nvidia 8800GT 512 (latest drivers), 4gigs of ram, 10mb down/2mb up connection and the game is VERY choppy.

 

I've turned off shadows, sound, turned down my resolution, fiddled around with firewall settings (I have no problem seeing and connection to peoples games most of the time).

 

So trust me, while is computer is definately crap and its time for an upgrade, even computers that meet the requirements run this game like crap.

start by taking a look at a

  • HD4830,
  • Phenom II X3 720,
  • 4GB of DDR2-800 RAM of your prefered flavour,
  • and a motherboard based on a 790GX chipset (providing it accepts DDR2 RAM).

i don't know how much that costs in your dollar (as i'm Aussie), but it'll give you bang-for-buck AND room to upgrade in the future.
