Oak uses spirits (apparently from the dead in battle), which kind of makes him a necromancer too. Or am I confusing things?

No, but he's built more like a Paladin-ish type, pure good and all that, which doesn't really fit a necromancer's bill. Erebus would be closer to a necromancer, especially with the whole blood thing.
