Skirmish Mode Problem Connecting

Ok, I'm reaching out to see if there is anything I'm overlooking or if this is simply an outstanding issue that I need to wait to be resolved. I'm unable to connect to a single skirmish game. I have followed the_monk's guide and have 6100-6200 udp/tcp forwarded as well as updated ImpulseReactorOptions

I'm on TWC cable modem and run Vista 64 with no problems joining or hosting custom games.

Here's the sequence of events I see when starting a Skirmish game:

1) Click Skirmish - Select Demigod - Click start

2) I get the "Finding a Match" message

3) This changes to the "A sutible match has not been found yet. The system is attempting to place you in a match"

4) Followed by "A match is attempting to be made but has not completed" and a connection info box (which is blank) appearing in the bottom right hand corner.

Edit 1) Also I seem to be unable to connect to Panthion, it just alternates between Finding a Match and A sutible match has not been found yet. The system is attempting to place you in a match".

5) After 10-15 seconds the main dialog box in the center of the screen goes blank. (It's still there just no text)

6) After 30-35 seconds the dialog box vanishes and i'm left back at the demigod selection screen to begin the process over.

Is anyone else seeing these issues and is there a known fix?

I'm currently experiencing simillar issues, although mine does return an error letting me know something is wrong with my NAT. I'm educating myself by reading through these forums as well as several others and working through the problems one at a time - so this could take a while to get this Ok on my end before I start flaming GPG

The first thing that appears to be a problem is viruses messing with network settings. I'm using Trend Micro's House Call (a free online virus scan) to remove whatever viruses I may have. This has actually fixed simillar issues with other games for people on different forums, and it's free.

After that, the next stop seems to be looking into your network settings. This stickied thread has a lot of solutions to this problem, and if might be worth giving it a read.

I'm not sure where to go after that, I'm still looking into it. If you manage to solve your problem could you post a solution please as it might also fix my problem. Thanks!

I've scanned and found no viruses, forwarded the ports as per instructions in the above linked forum and I'm still having the same problem, which is rather annoying. I'm looking to other possible solutions including trying games over Hamachi - if Hamachi games work then it would seem the problem is not on my side of things.

Well I still haven't been able to play a game in skirmish or panthion but i've ruled out more potential causes.....

A UDP port check confirmed i'm open on 6100-6200 and 6073. I also am able to see myself connecting to people in the connection info box now but even though i connect to them the game never starts. Eventually if i let it wait long enough it times out with "You have been disconnected by the NAT facilitator".

As for the virus threat, i'm pretty sure that's not it, I run firefox with noscript, have AVG, and don't go to stupid places on the internet.

I'm pretty patent but i'm starting to get more and more frustrated.

It's completely the game's fault and not yours. There is nothing you can do about it until they fix it.

By far the worst release for a multiplayer game I've seen.

I was able to play my first game today - I think ViciousFrost is right. We've done all we can, and now we can only hope Stardock do all that they can do and get things working. I'm getting very, very frustrated as well - I was expecting initial issues, but not this. I'm going to stick with it though - the single player stuff is pretty fun in the mean time.
