Demigod gets stuck in loading screen skirmish

I just purchased Demigod and have a problem where I cannot run skirmish games.  Tournament games load ok.  I get the loading screen with the arena name and "[no text]" caption underneath when trying to enter a game.

I have the same issue. I've had it happen to me in single player skirmish mode, as well as multiplayer custom games. I thought perhaps it was my firewall, but after turning that off the issue still occurs. Anyone have a suggestion?

I have heard of this.  I'm told it means "the sim" crashed.  Does this happen every time?

It happens to me also everytime I try to play, I can join other peoples skirmish but not start my own, I also noticed today, if I am the first person on the list it breaks the same way.

If you're getting [no text] on lobby or load screens, try deleting your Game.prefs file from My Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Demigod.
