I play with a group of two other players. All three of us had the sound problems so we updated our drivers per-instructions. After doing so all three of us played a test game to see if the drivers worked... and they did! Flawlessly. We played for a game for about 30 minutes without issue.
The problem occured later. We took a break and came back to it about an hour or so later. We played and one of my friends had the sound error again. We quit shortly after to see what the problem was and couldn't figure it out. We figured it was a fluke and decided to come back later that night as we all had some things to do. Inbetween this me and my other friend, the one without the problem, played once and neither had the problem.
About an hour ago we started and instantly the same friend had the same problem. We continued to play through it and about half-way through the game (15 minutes) I started to get the sound problem as well (as well as the performance hits that come along with it).
What's the deal? I don't imagine it's a memory leak as the one friend without any problem has system specs that are incredibly similar to the one with the problem. I think the only difference between the two of their rigs are the type of ram. Any ideas on how to remedy this? Something besides /nosound?
Again, drivers DID fix the problem, but only temporarily.
