Favor Point Allocation

Hey guys,

Apologies if this has already been discussed elsewhere, I had a quick look and found this topic: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/336920/ which goes a little way to discussing the issue.

I'd like to see a more appropriate allocation of the Favour points at the end of a match - I find that no matter in which type of match I play the person on my team with the most kills will receive the most favour points. However, in a domination match, where the objective is to capture and hold flags I kind of feel that more favour points should be awarded to the player who captures the most flags.

Likewise, in Fortress, it should be the player who helps to destroy the most fortresses, and in Conquest it should be the player who does the most damage (it may already be this, to be fair. It's hard to distinguish since whoever does most damage usually has most kills).

Is this something that would be easily implementable? Is it an issue that bothers anyone else?

Yeah he understands that.  The idea is that you should get a favor point bonus when you were a top contibuter towards the specific goal of a map.  I think it is a fair suggestion, wouldn't mind seeing it implemented.

i also think that the favor point system is broken:

1- only the players that do something the most is rewarded, if the 3 top killers scores 16 kills, 15 kills and 6 kills, only the first one is rewarded and it is a bit frustrating for the second that have also played well.

2- You are rewarded for arbitrary things like kills or gold spent in citadel upgrades but it doesn't always reflect what you have done for your team. For example, in cataract, if i spend time breaking the towers to access the ennemies portals and i take their flags, it can easily make my team win, but i can still don't be rewarded at all.

So i think it would be better to just give points for each kill, support spell used on an ally, flag taken, etc. And maybe multiply by a 2x coef if you are in the winning team.

I'd like to see something along these lines as well. Something that more closely resembles each individual's contribution to the battle. The current awards give only a very rough indication, particularly for the people on the losing side of things. I can recall two different matches I was in recently, each of which raged on for well over an hour. I remember leaving the first with a deep sense of respect for the opposing team's skill. They had us subtly suppressed, forcing us to hide behind our towers for a significant portion of the game. Yet by the game's end, our team somehow pulled a rabbit out of the hat (probably through early investment in gold & XP rates) and managed to stomp their citadel.

I actually felt bad for the opposing team when I saw the favour rewards they recieved. Over the course of an hour-long battle, most of which they spent dominating the field of play, they recieved... 25 and 40 favour points. To our 130+ scores... It just... I dunno... It seemed like such a godforsakenly close match, but the favour rewards didn't reflect that fact at all. :S

Well it's good to see I'm not the only one who thinks this!

I especially like the idea of favour points being tied in to awards and individual performance, with a multiplyer (x2 for the winners, for example) added to the winning team. This ensures that those players who carry a team but ultimately lose will still be rewarded for their efforts.

Well, you did pull through and get the win in the end, so you still did play better. Losing (participant) gets 10 points, winning get 75.

in domination you should only have 3 caps.  any more then that means you were losing flags and thus not worthy of your patron gods favour!
