Balance or What? (Screenshots, 56k Warning)

Basic question...  How is everyone else doing at the game?  Who seems OP'd, who isn't OP'd?  The reason I ask is because I don't know if the people I'm playing are terrible or Regelus is really this OP.  I know there are bigger fish in the sea of competition, but I get paired with who I get paired with.

Regulus is designed to be a demigod killer, right?

Anyway, looking at the rest of your score card, it just appears you're pretty good or everyone's still fairly green.  More time is needed to get an accurate reading on which demigods need a buff.

(let's avoid OP discussion and talks of nerfing)

People that I meet online, due to random match ups are pretty sucky. I personally come from DotA background and usually get pretty good scores, rarely going more than 1-2deaths. So I think it is more of a learning thing this community has to do.

Looks like they're really good at farming CPU's. Don't judge a class based on how it plays against bots in Pantheon/Skirmish. Judge a class based on how it plays at the pro-level.

If you can't control regulus early in the game, your in for a lot of deaths later.  He has by far the best dps in the game.  I believe you can get him to shoot twice per second for 200-400 dmg each shot.  My best counter strategy is lots of armor, I usually migitate 50% of dmg with erubus (he needs the armor anyhow).  Just remember armor doesn't do anything when abilities are used.

Those are all AIs.

LOL @ all those kills.  Either that game was really long or you guys weren't very good.

edit: If any of those are AIs, then what's your point?  AIs can't tell us anything reliable about balance.

Yes, because there is a pro-level in DG.

I was asking for other people's experiences / opinions on the class.  And for the other person who said you have to control Regulus early on, that is 100% true.  If I can level / farm and stay near combat it gets unstoppable.

Regulus has 1 direct damage ability, the fact that it has a massive range does not excuse it for being a 1 trick pony. There are much better classes for quickly burning down demis and Regulus is not one of them, due to direct damage skills not being mitigatable.

Honestly, if you've gotten your Reg to +50% attack speed and above, with enough +WD to hit for 300+ on demis, the game is basically over anyways.

Yes, there is PRO-level in DG. It is called people who played Beta/Played Dota for years. You wouldn't get a kill sir. So just play with AI, learn some builds, see whatever works. This game needs a good month of playing before any decisions are made. Right now any her o in hands of a good player can steamroll the other team.

I must admit, I tried Regulus after everybody on the forums were shouting "NERRFFFF!!!!!!" and I have rarely had luck with him. His low health just screams for Erebus to Bat Swarm and smash him in the face and he won't be clearing the creeps anytime soon unless you are willing to invest serious skill points into mines (which I find useless against other Demigods).

Reg is definitely an absolute threat in the hands of a skilled player. His ridiculous range and with Maim is a great way to chase down running demigods and his tracking device with snipe hurts like heck, especially late game. I find Mark of the Betrayer a great way to take down spell casting Assassins who spam a lot and Angelic Fury is a great damage booster despite it's mana draining tendencies. I find that generals and UB can be absolutely devestating against weaker Regulus players. Generals with Monks/Clerics/Bishops greatly offset Reg's damage and Regulus absolutely cannot clear the minions out like Torch Bearer or Rook. Erebus is even more deadly, because of his ability to teleport right into Reg and just start to pound away. Give Erebus some +movement and Reg is pretty screwed.

I feel that Reg is the way to determine between the n00bs and pros. Lesser Reg players get crushed while better Reg players absolutely dominate. Is he overpowered? I don't think so. Give it some time though, and we will eventually see.

If you have 100k gold in a match and you don't win, I'm not sure there's any hope.  Anybody would have won like that.

In Regulus's description it says "Good at killing Demigods".

You also have to remember, that any Reg with that many kills went a DPS build, which means he has the worst health and armour in the game.

I just think Regulus gives a bigger payoff than the other Demigods if you're skilled. He annoys the hell out of me, at the start of the game he just fires at you 10ft away from a tower, if you go anywhere near him he'll just run back two feet, and if you try to give chase the tower shoots at you as well, huge pain in the rear, and it does feel a little unfair since he can damage me constantly no matter what other Demigod I choose while I can't get anywhere near him. Landmines are also alot of fun, wish I could at least see a very vaugue silhouette when they're placed or as I get closer to them, I also don't think they should be able to detonate right away when they're thrown under your feet. I've also had my kills stolen by him many times, I don't really mind if he kills an enemy that's about to kill me, or kills someone running away from me, but blantant steals where I'm at 80%+ health and the enemy is at under 1,000 with my minions attacking him, or me grasping him with UB and draining him to death sorta pisses me off. One of the most annoying Demigods I've seen in the game... but sadly I do think he's fairly balanced. I'd like to see some towers moved further away from flags and reinforcement fight areas, but other than that everything is fine.

I'm not sure if Regulus is actually OP or not.  I'm of the opinion that we should give the game a month before any balance changes are made.

The only thing I know for sure is that he is the most annoying Demigod by far.  Not necessarily the most powerful, but definately the most annoying to fight against.

I play Oak alot. His shield plus the telportation favor item makes it easy to avoid getting killed by regulus. I dont try and tackle enemy demigods at the early levels anyway, and from what ive seen if you dont give up any kills to regulus early game he falls behind. Basically early game just kill creeps and avoid regulus, he isnt great at stand up fights so take flags kill creeps and just take a few steps back when he wants to play with you. A regulus who gets little or no hero kills early game will likely be way behind by mid\late game.

Play conservativly and watch your back to avoid getting ganked, focus on creeps and you should be able to level faster than someone playing reg. Noobs tend to see an enemy Demigod and charge, when really behaving like that will just end you up with fewer creep kills and more deaths, these noobs are exactly what regulus preys on.

Im no 'DoTa pro' but in Demigod, I like seeing Regulus on the enemy team.

To give you a foil... Early game Regulas was playing good.  But between the mistakes that the Rook made along with some mistakes Reg made the tide turned very very quickly.

Once you get on a roll as I did both out leveling and out gearing the opponnets it was hard for them to come back.

I've found this to be very true.  Early kills can really start to get the ball rolling.  In a previous game (sorry no screen shot) I was faced with a team that had two Regulus's that were working together very well and it was rough!  I lost that game and my early death by them really put me behind.  So Regulus can be really good, especially once he gets gear -- but that seems to be the case with almost all the demigods.

Regulus is just irritating.  Most people that play are still getting the basic idea.  When I play only with my friend, we always team up on one person because it is the smart thing to do.  Usually nobody is ever hard to take down.  If you just go around thinking you can solo the other team, then yeah, some Demigods may seem OP.
