anyone know where i can find a direct download for the lan patch? i am on a school network that does not allow impulse to update my game 
Maybe this link helps you. This link from russian demigod site. I dont know can it work with impulse version of the game.

If I recall, the patches are released only through Impusle - pirates can't update online and are stuck with the retail version of the game.
Direct download for patch = pirates invading online play. Not going to happen.
LOL I don't believe a word of that. If you can run Impulse, you most definitely can patch it.
Impulse uses normal HTTP ports to update so if you are surfing the web (which you obviously are) then Impulse works. Nice try though. 
Impulse uses HTTP&HTTPS connections, so it's strange that it cannot download (do they use a proxy and have rules specifically for Impulse?). I would contact [email protected] to see if there is a way to make it work.
As a workaround, if you really need to update the game and cannot wait for support's answer, you can go to http://anywhere.impulsedriven.com/, enter your Impulse username/password and select Demigod in the list. You will have to download the full game installation (all 2.82G of it) as there is no "patch" support in Impulse Anywhere at this time. This should get you updated until support can look at your problem and hopefully allow you to use Impulse normally.
n3crosys: having the latest version won't allow pirates to play online with normal customers. They only will be able to play single player/lan. If anything, this will stop them from contacting the old server infrastructure when the game starts. And since IIRC they have activation turned on in patched versions, they will need to workaround that too
awesome, I have been looking for this all day, my game just arrived today. I can't install impulse, it says I need internet explorer I am not going to put microsoft garbage on my pc just to update a game. Kudos to releasing direct patches, I just hope this works on the english version.
Well, it didnt work. Can I download a patch on a different pc through impulse and copy it over? Otherwise this game is going straight back.

I wouldn't trust any .exe from a site that isn't Stardock. sounds like a perfect way to infect your PC with a nasty virus...
Post locked and hidden as we don't want standalone patches floating around.
Impulse no longer requires IE7 to install. You at least have IE6 since it came with un-updated XP. It will be enough to patch.
