yah, it goes with the territory of only controlling one unit.
one of the hardest things for me to learn when i started playing Team Fortress 2 was that you really shouldn't be trying to fight at all times. sometimes you have to wait and spend some time doing basically nothing, waiting for better battlefield conditions or for the enemy to walk into a trap you've set.
i think that Demigod probably has just as much in common (in terms of strategy and pacing, if not gameplay control style) with team based FPS games as it does with any kind of RTS game.
