Connection problems ruin fantastic game

Let me first say that I love this game, but it's very hard for me to enjoy it right now. I was trying to play with 2 other friends of mine today and we got about 4 games in about 7 hours.....yes 7 hours of trying.

-Failed to join game

-Disconnected from NAT server after waiting like 5 minutes at connecting to players

-The browser list constantly refreshing itself and lagging like hell while doing it. Honestly, make it stop refreshing itself and only do it when we click the button

-And the worst problem of all is it putting you in completely different games than the one you click on to join.

Between all those problems trying to get 3 people in a game and 3 people to play against is nigh impossible.

Also, there should be a way to join skirmish mode as group, this would solve many of the problems right there.

Hoping this stuff gets ironed out ASAP or we'll just have to move on to something else.

Also please don't stay it works fine if you're just a lone wolf joining games by yourself. It's getting in games together with friends that will drive people insane.

I agree that one of the paramount issues here, is a new way to handle the server-list.

No auto-refresh, and the issue of the list de-sync'ing would go a long way towards improving at least the custom games part of this great game.

I"m sure I'll be called a "fan-boi" but I have total confidence in the DEVS to give us that and many more non-connection related improvements.  That's what you get when a dev-team treats their customers like clients.  :)

keep it up SD!!!

I know they will fix it eventually but this all needs to be ironed out at light speed or it will really kill this fantastic game otherwise.

Why can't they just handle servers the same way steam handles them? Or even like battle.net? It seems like they did a really bad job of sufficient testing for the MP side of the game.

End of Nubby's quote
Because those games are not P2P.

The problem with hamachi games is that you cant connecto to most of the games, since they are a different version than the impulse one.

First off, do some forum browsing and you will see that the fix is in the works for probably this week. *cross fingers*

Second, hamachi is much more complicated than it needs to be so I have taken a liking to www.gameranger.com. Takes 2 mins to download, install and get going. Then you just find a room that is labled with .93 version and get going. Once host launches game it will pop up for you, you click Multiplayer->Lan->Join game. GL HF =]
